Raw vs Nitro "Reliving The War": Episode 35 - June 3rd 1996
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Monday Night Raw and WCW Monday Nitro go head to head in another weekly battle for television ratings supremacy! The date is 6.3.1996, Raw is on the USA Network while Nitro is live over on TNT, and WCW is seriously turning up the heat with the recent debut of Scott Hall. While both Raw and Nitro are still a long way away from being the top rating TV shows that they would soon become, WCW Nitro is starting to show signs of greatness. Scott Hall appears towards the end of the show to announce a "big surprise" for next week's broadcast, and WCW are also in a period of remembering their history when The Rock N Roll Express take on Ric Flair and Arn Anderson of the Four Horsemen this week. Over on WWF Raw, the company is gearing towards the King of the Ring pay per view. We have more qualifying matches this week featuring Steve Austin, Jake Roberts and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. You can feel WCW revving up the engines while the WWF seem a little stuck in their ways. WCW is now beginning to truly challenge the WWF in a way Vince McMahon wasn't used to (as evidenced by his commentary during this week's main event). 00:00 - Hour 1 of WCW Nitro 04:02 - Steve Austin vs Bob Holly 06:25 - The Rock 'n' Roll Express return to WCW 10:24 - Barry Horowitz vs Mankind / Giant vs Ice Train 13:15 - Goldust Promo / Hugh Morrus vs Scott Norton 15:18 - Godwinns vs Tekno Team 2000 / Kevin Greene & Mongo 18:30 - The Main Events 15:04 - Final Scores #Wrestling #WCW #WWF
The Career of The Undertaker - The 2005 Randy Orton Rivalry
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios In 2005, The Undertaker would spend most of the year battling Randy Orton. The Underaker now worked as a Smackdown Exclusive superstar, and when the Legend Killer got moved over to the blue brand, Orton's feud with The Undertaker resumed immediately. Keep in mind that The Undertaker faced Randy Orton earlier in the year at WrestleMania 21, however this was an interpromotional match (Randy was still a Raw superstar during WrestleMania). Before the main portion of the Orton vs Undertaker rivalry began, The Phenom would find himself in another short lived feud with a new superstar, and the brief meetings between these two would spark a lot of media interest. The company found itself in hot water, and WWE members of the board decided to remove The Undertaker's new rival before the feud could truly get underway. Those who sign up to the WWE Network may notice that this particular rivalry may be a little difficult to find through the search feature, but the story is also covered in this video along with the complete Randy Orton Rivalry. The Undertaker vs Randy Orton would span across multiple pay per views and the feud culminated in a way that every good WWE rivalry should; inside Hell in a Cell. The story told throughout the year was entertaining, from Randy and Bob Orton presenting 'Taker with a check that was put together through an Undertaker retirement fundraiser to caskets getting employed to play mind games, 'Taker vs Orton in 2005 is a feud that you shouldn't sleep on. 00:00 - Randy Orton gets drafted to Smackdown 03:02 - The WWE gets in trouble 06:48 - The Undertaker vs Randy Orton at SummerSlam 2005 08:33 - The Ortons try to play Mind Games with The Undertaker 11:47 - The No Mercy Casket Match 12:54 - The Undertaker returns at Survivor Series 2005 16:09 - Undertaker vs Orton: Hell in a Cell - Much More! #WWE #TheUndertaker #Wrestling
Scorpion vs Sharpshooter - Sting vs Bret Hart in WCW
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios When Bret Hart was in the WWF during the mid 90s and when Sting was on the opposing WCW side, many fans wanted to see who would win in a match. Not only did Hart and Sting have the same finishing move, but they were also once considered the very best "good guys" the WWF and WCW had during the 90s. Wrestling fans adored Bret Hart and Sting, and while people discussed dream matches like Undertaker vs Sting and Goldberg vs Steve Ausitn, many fans wanted to know who would win between the Hitman and the Stinger. The history of WWF can't be discussed without mentioning Bret Hart, and the history of WCW can't be mentioned without Sting. At one point, it felt like both men wouldn't budge from their respective companies. But, the possibility of a Hart vs Sting match became a reality when Bret left the WWF together with other members of the Hart Foundation. Bret showed up in World Championship Wrestling as a babyface, and he helped Sting secure the WCW championship at Starrcade 1997. As 1998 went on though, both Bret and Sting's roles within WCW would drastically change. Sting would join the nWo Wolfpac, and Bret would align himself with nWo Hollywood. When Sting faced Bret at Halloween Havoc 98, Bret was now the heel while Sting remained a babyface. All subsequent meetings between Hart and Sting would see the roles again getting reversed, Sting worked as the "bad guy" while Hart was now portrayed as the "good guy". This video looks at Bret and Sting's matches in WCW. Raw vs Nitro "Reliving The War": Episode 34 - May 27th 1996
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios One of the most important and historic nights of the Monday Night War gets covered this week in Reliving The War. Scott Hall, aka Razor Ramon, shows up on WCW Nitro and he promises a takeover of World Championship Wrestling. For many people, this was the true beginning of the WWF vs WCW Monday Night ratings battle that would continue for years. Today's WWE girls and boys truly benefited from what went down on Monday Nitro back on May 27th 1996, as did the whole wrestling business (for a while at least). Scott Hall had given up his WWF membership card in reality, but in Kayfabe, Scott Hall portrayed a WWF invader. The WWF had a few issues with their In Your House: Beware of Dog pay per view. The lights in the arena got switched off due to a power outage, and also, the pay per view feed got cut off. On this week's episode of Raw, Vince McMahon promises to make things right with "Beware of Dog 2", the pay per view would air the night after Monday Night Raw. This week of episode features King of the Ring qualifying matches including Ahmed Johnson, Vader, The Ultimate Warrior and Goldust. While the WWF environment stayed the same really, WCW began to truly turn up the heat this week on Reliving The War. Not only did Scott Hall show up, but WCW went to a full 2 hour broadcast, meaning the company were packing more action into their weekly television show. It would only get better from here, we aren't quite at the era of weekly cruiserweight action and nWo Hogan, Hall and Nash running the place... but we're very close! 00:00 - Beware of Dog 1 & 2 Results 04:04 - Nitro Hour 1 begins 06:12 - Scott Hall shows up on WCW Nitro 08:38 - Nitro Hour 2 continues 10:17 - Goldust vs The Ultimate Warrior 13:20 - Lex Luger vs Maxx 15:46 - Vince McMahon announces Beware of Dog 2 17:00 - Brad Armstrong vs "Hardwork" Bobby Walker 19:16 - The Smoking Gunns vs The Bodydonnas 21:33 - Steve Regal vs Alex Wright 23:57 - This Week's Main Events 30:27 - Final Scores - Much More! #WWE #WCW #WCWNitro

If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios When it comes to the very best Royal Rumble match in WWF / WWE history, many will say that nothing is better than the 1992 edition of the famous showdown between 30 superstars. With the WWF championship on the line, the top stars of the World Wrestling Federation met in the ring on the 19th of January 1992 in what many consider the true “greatest” Royal Rumble of all time. After Ric Flair had got involved in Hulk Hogan’s WWF championship matches at Survivor Series 1991 and This Tuesday in Texas, the WWF championship was vacated. WWF President Jack Tunney announced that the winner of the 1992 Royal Rumble would also become the new undisputed WWF Champion, so there was a lot at stake in the rumble match. Along with Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan, the 1992 Royal Rumble was truly star-studded… the match also featured guys like Roddy Piper, Macho Man Randy Savage, Sid Justice, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Kerry Von Erich and loads more. Hulk Hogan: The Smackdown Era (2002 - 2003)
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios After Hulk Hogan's iconic match with The Rock at WrestleMania X8, it was decided that Hogan should begin a babyface run in the WWF. While the nWo stayed on Raw, Hulk Hogan was moved to Smackdown during the very first WWF Draft. It didn't take long for the Hulkster to put on his classic red and yellow colors as Hulkamania would begin running wild again on the Smackdown brand. Hulk Hogan was named the number 1 contender for the Undisputed Championship. Triple H vs Hulk Hogan took place at Backlash 2002, and Hulk Hogan rose to the top once again when he became the new Undisputed champion. Hulk defended the belt against the likes of Chris Jericho and Ric Flair, but Hogan's reign came to an end rather abruptly after getting defeated by The Undertaker at Judgment Day. From here, Hulk would begin a rivalry with Kurt Angle and he'd also begin a quite succesful tag team with Edge. After getting taken out by Brock Lesnar, Hogan returned in 2003 to begin a short feud with The Rock. Rock was now the heel while Hogan was the good guy. After their No Way Out 2003 match, Hulk Hogan's ongoing rivalry with Vince McMahon came to a head at WrestleMania XIX in a match that was billed as "20 years in the making". Mr. America came next, and then, Hogan disappeared from the WWE. In Your House: Canadian Stampede | Wrestling Bios
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios 1997 is considered one of the very best years in WWF history. While the company was slowly moving towards more contemporary content, storylines and rivalries would get presented in a way that also appealed to older fans. The biggest WWF storyline of 1997 concerned Bret Hart and his heel turn. Bret Hart felt wrestling fans had turned their back on him in favour of guys like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels. Hart decided to unite his family and reform the Hart Foundation, a group that consisted of Bret, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim Neidhart and family friend Brian Pillman. While Bret would rip into fans in the States he would also praise his fans in Europe and Canada, and this created a unique dynamic where Bret and the Hart Foundation would get cheered everywhere except the USA. The Hart Foundation came home to Calgary, Alberta, Canada for the WWF’s 16th In Your House event, aptly titled “Canadian Stampede”. At the Canadian Stampede show, The Hart Foundation were treated like heroes by the audience in attendance while their opponents were booed, opponents who would normally get cheered in the States. This created a unique atmosphere in the Calgary Saddledome that the WWE has never been able to recreate. Along with this, In Your House: Canadian Stampede featured some of the very best in-ring action the WWF had produced all year. In the end, the PPV received critical acclaim and it’s considered one of the best pay per views of 1997. The event was headlined by The Hart Foundation vs Ken Shamrock, Goldust, The Legion of Doom and Stone Cold Steve Austin in a 10 Man Tag match. The Story of The First Hell in a Cell Match
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios The first ever Hell in a Cell match took place at Badd Blood: In Your House on October 5th 1997. The Undertaker battled Shawn Michaels for a shot at the WWF Championship inside this new steel structure, and the match would become one of the best matches in the history of the WWE. When Shawn Michaels cost The Undertaker the WWF Championship at SummerSlam 97, The Phenom was determined to get even. Shawn turned heel after SummerSlam, saying that the fans were blaming him and dumping this all on HBK’s lap. This led to the creation of D-Generation X, and this new heel Shawn Michaels would face The Undertaker at Ground Zero: In Your House in September 1997. Due to interference the match was ruled a no contest and a rematch was booked for the next In Your House event. A new match type was created for the bout, a new steel cage that surrounded the whole perimeter of the ringside area and a cage that also had a roof. This cage and match type was named “Hell in a Cell”. The first Hell in a Cell match would tell the story of Shawn Michaels trying to survive, The Undertaker trying to destroy, and the debut of a Superstar who would go on to become legendary in his own right. The Career of Shawn Michaels : 1992 - 1994
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Shawn Michaels is considered one of the greatest performers in the history of professional wrestling. Dubbed “The Showstopper” and “The Icon”, HBK has had a career filled with excellent matches and entertaining storylines. Shawn’s path to legendary status would truly begin in 1992 after the breakup of The Rockers tag team, and this is where this video begins. After WrestleMania 8, Shawn Michaels and Sensational Sherri would continue on in the WWF’s upper midcard. Shawn’s next rivalry was with Rick Martel, and the 2 men met in the ring at SummerSlam 1992 in Wembley Stadium. From here, Shawn would capture the Intercontinental Championship and he would headline Survivor Series 92 with Bret Hart. 1993 would see Sherri leave Shawn as HBK brought Big Daddy Cool Diesel into the World Wrestling Federation, beginning a friendship that would change the course of the whole company. Shawn and Diesel, known together as “2 Dudes with Attitudes”, would become very successful in a very short time period. After Shawn dropped the IC title to Razor Ramon in their excellent ladder match, Shawn took a break from the ring while Diesel would go on to defeat Razor for the belt. When Shawn got back in the ring, he and Diesel won the Tag Team titles. The Kliq was now in full force, and the group of friends worked with eachother while keeping the WWF’s title belts in the possession. This video looks at this whole era. Known now as "The Montreal Screwjob", Survivor Series 97 went down in history as one of the most intriguing nights in WWF / WWE history where Bret Hart got screwed by Vince McMahon. One week after the Montreal incident, Jim Ross interviewed Vince McMahon. The interview was shown on WWF Raw, and the interview has now become known as the "Bret Screwed Bret" interview. After losing the United States championship, Eddie Guerrero had turned heel and his next goal was the Cruiserweight title, held by Chris Jericho. While Guerrero was able to defeat Jericho to win the title, Rey Mysterio was on a winning streak of his own. The Story of John Cena's WWE Debut
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios John Cena became one of the WWE's most popular superstars among younger viewers. Becoming the face of the WWE during a career than spanned over 2 decades, the leader of the Cenation had a run that was filled with championship gold. With this in mind, many old-school fans of wrestling weren't as enamoured with John Cena as the new generation of fans. Whether you liked John Cena or not, his incredible work ethic should be admired by all. John began his wrestling career in 1999, getting trained in the UPW organization before getting signed to a WWE developmental deal by Jim Ross. Known to fans as “Joker” Sting but officially dubbed the “Insane Icon”, the Stinger’s new gimmick was heavily inspired by the movie “The Dark Knight” as Steve Borden looked (and acted) like The Joker. With Hulk Hogan and the Immortal faction as his main rivals, Sting would entertain fans of TNA with this new and odd character. Some fans loved it, some fans didn’t, but it’s a very interesting part of The Stinger’s career that’s extremely fascinating to look at. In this video, we look at the events that led up to Sting vs Hulk Hogan at Bound for Glory 2011. If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios When Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff arrived in TNA, they were brought in as both producers and on-screen talent. The Hogan vs Sting rivalry from WCW was eventually continued in TNA with Hogan as the heel once again and Sting as the good guy. Through this rivalry and another feud with Mr. Anderson, Sting would once again revamp his wrestling character, and Impact Wrestling would become the home of "The Insane Icon", also known as "Joker" Sting to fans of TNA. What's so notable about the Joker Sting era is that although it contained some of Sting's very best work, not that many people actually saw it. TNA and Impact Wrestling had lost a lot of momentum since the Hogan and Bischoff takeover, fans were tuning into WWE progamming from 2010 onwards, but faithful TNA fans will tell you how good this version of Sting truly was. 00:00 - The Hulk Hogan / Bischoff TNA era 02:36 - Rob Van Dam / Mr. Anderson / Sting Rivalry 07:33 - Mr. Anderson impersonates Sting 13:18 - Sting snaps at Mr. Anderson and Hulk Hogan 17:58 - The Insane Icon enters the Impact Zone 23:02 - The Midsummer Nightmare - Much More! #Wrestling #Sting #Documentary

One of The American Dream's most exciting ideas came in the form of a wrestling match concept, The War Games match. Inspired after seeing The Thunderdome in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Rhodes frantically sketched out his idea for "War Games", a match that would get held inside 2 rings with one giant ring surrounding them. The first War Games match was held in 1987 at The Great American Bash tour. After getting the go-ahead from Jim Crockett, Dusty was able to bring his match concept to life at The Omni in Atlanta. Dusty Rhodes, Nikita Koloff, The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering took on The Four Horsemen (consisting of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Lex Luger and J.J Dillon). War Games became an instant success, and the new match type would become a tradition of WCW as the years went on. Austin was a box office smash, generating more revenue and drawing bigger numbers than any superstar before or after his WWF arrival while becoming incredibly popular with wrestling fans. In 2001 however, Austin felt his character needed a change. Stone Cold turned heel after WrestleMania X7 and he also played a "bad guy" role during the WCW / ECW Invasion. The heel turn wasn't as succesful as Austin hoped, so he turned back into a "good guy" heading into 2002. After refusing to work with Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Austin had a WrestleMania match with Scott Hall and really... this is when the problems began. Stone Cold Steve Austin wouldn't see eye-to-eye with the WWF / WWE creative team. After being booked to lose to Brock Lesnar in a King of the Ring qualifying match, Steve Austin decided to walk out of the company. The End of The Undertaker's WrestleMania Streak
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios The Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak was, and still is, the stuff of legend. Fans would tune into WrestleMania every year for over 2 decades to see The Undertaker defeat another opponent, guys like Triple H, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Diesel, Kane and CM Punk all fell victim to The Phenom at the WWE's biggest event of the year. The Undertaker and The Streak became a WrestleMania tradition that no one thought would end. At WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, Brock Lesnar stepped up to take on The Undertaker. While the buildup to Taker vs Lesnar was similar to any other Undertaker WrestleMania match, the outcome left fans shocked. Brock Lesnar defeated the Undertaker, Lesnar became the "one in 21 and 1", and fans didn't know how to take it. Many thought that a mistake was made at WrestleMania 30, others thought Lesnar went into business for himself, it was theory after theory as fans came to terms with the legenedary undefeated streak ending at WrestleMania 30. If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Beginning in 1996, the WWF would change the format of their Pay Per View Preview shows with the debut of "WWF Free For All". The Free For All was a 30 minute show that aired right before a big WWF event, providing free content and matches to the public in hopes of converting more buyers. The previous format was known as the "countdown" show and many of these shows were made available on WWF tapes, but when the Free for All was introduced, only American audiences got to see the full unedited shows. UK video tapes would sometimes include the Free For All match, but nothing else. This video takes a look at every WWF Free For All of 1996. If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Another special episode of Reliving The War this week as WWF Raw goes unopposed. WCW Monday Nitro was pre-empted on 4.8.96 so the WWF had a free night on the USA Network. Once again, the WWF would try to capitalize by presenting some of the biggest names in the company including Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Vader, Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart. This episode also features the Raw debut of The Ultimate Warrior, who made his return at WrestleMania 12. The WWF try to turn the Monday Night War in their favour by putting on an entertaining show, and it actually worked. The World Wrestling Federation would win the ratings war 5 times in a row… but it was the last winning streak the WWF would have for quite a long time. As we get further into 1996, the wheels begin falling off as WCW begin firing on all cylinders. #WWE #Wrestling #WWFRAW
The Story of WWF One Night Only - HBK vs Bulldog
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios 1997 WWF was filled with remarkable pay per view events. Sky TV managed to secure a deal with the World Wrestling Federation that would bring an exclusive PPV event to the United Kingdom. Coming live from the Birmingham NEC Arena, WWF One Night Only turned out to be remarkable in it's own right. With the rivalry between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels reaching a fever pitch, it was decided that Bret's brother-in-law Davey Boy Smith would defend his European Championship against Michaels in the main event. Because One Night Only was being held in the UK and because this was the first exclusive British WWF PPV, the natural assumption was that the British Bulldog would win and the crowd would get sent home happy. Instead, Shawn Michaels generated a ton of heat when he defeated The Bulldog in his home country. Hulk Hogan - The Final WCW Days
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Hulk Hogan’s storied WCW career came to an end after Bash at the Beach 2000. Hulk Hogan was scheduled to face WCW Champion Jeff Jarrett for the title, and Jarrett lay down for Hogan. Vince Russo, the head of WCW creative at the time, tossed the WCW championship into the ring and Hulk Hogan left the arena as champion. Vince Russo returned to the ring, and he cut a scathing promo on Hulk Hogan where it was declared that Hogan would never been seen in a WCW ring again. Bash at the Beach 2000, Vince Russo, and the whole Hulk Hogan situation was one of the more curious wrestling stories of the year. While Russo claims that Hogan and Eric Bischoff were in on the storyline and the whole thing was a “worked shoot”, Hogan and Bischoff beg to differ. The whole Bash at the Beach situation ended up in the courtroom, and Hulk Hogan hired lawyers in an attempt to sue WCW for defamation, breach of contract, lost income and more. In a rare instance of a wrestling storyline ending up in a real court, it became increasingly clear that everyone involved had “worked themselves into a shoot”. The whole Russo vs Hogan saga is covered in this video, along with Hogan’s WCW run in the year 2000. Hulk Hogan became part of the “Millionaires Club”, a faction of WCW veterans who feuded with the “New Blood”. Of note was Hogan’s rivalry with Billy Kidman and the on-screen falling out of Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios The Raw after WrestleMania usually has a few surprises and 1996 was no exception. With WrestleMania XII all wrapped up, the WWF went into San Barnardino for Monday Night Raw and not only did we get the in-ring debut of Marc Mero (WCW's Johnny B. Badd), but Mankind also worked his very first TV match on this show. Mick Foley's Mankind character would become a huge part of the Monday Night War, and right from the get-go, Mankind made an impact. Over on the WCW side, Eric Bischoff and company were getting ready for a rough month. Not only were there no PPVs scheduled for April 1996, but Nitro was getting ready for another pre-empted week on the 8th of April. 2 pre-empted shows in the space of a month meant storyline progession would slow down and the creative team would need to focus on building a PPV which was over 1 month away. Slamboree 1996 would also feature the "Lethal Lottery" tag matches that didn't do much in terms of storylines, so things are looking a bit shaky on Nitro over the next few weeks. This video looks at the Monday Night ratings battle between WCW and the WWF on 4.1.96. The First Ever TNA Weekly Show
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Total Nonstop Action, TNA, is a wrestling organization that was founded by Jeff Jarrett, Jerry Jarrett and Bob Ryder in 2002. When Vince McMahon purchased WCW in 2001, TNA hoped to become the first wrestling company to rise up. Alternatives were needed, the WCW buyout had left a huge gap in the market and also, a lot of guys needed work. The Jarretts were hopeful that TNA could fill the void, giving fans a new wrestling product while giving superstars a place to wrestle. It looked like the WWE was not going to be the only place to get some TV time afterall. Thanks to a partnership with the National Wrestling Alliance, TNA was able to host NWA Championship matches on their weekly PPVs. The NWA was also a recognizable entity within the wrestling landscape, so the partnership benefited both TNA and the National Wrestling Landscape. TNA prospered with the NWA name being associated with the company, and the NWA could attempt to restore some of their past glory by exposing the NWA championship to wrestling audiences once again. The very first NWA-TNA show took place on June 18th 2006, and the main event would feature a unique NWA Heavyweight Championship match. The Story of Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios WrestleMania VIII hosted one of the WWF / WWE ‘s greatest ever Intercontinental Championship matches in history. Champion Roddy Piper defended the gold against Bret Hart in a match packed with storytelling and drama, and the match has stood the test of time nearly 30 years later. Bret Hart won the IC title at SummerSlam 1991 in a critically acclaimed match with Mr. Perfect. In January of 1992, Hart dropped the title to The Mountie. While fans were a little baffled by this outcome, plans were already being put in place for Bret to regain the championship at WrestleMania. Roddy Piper won the Intercontinental title just 2 days after The Mountie defeated Hart… if Bret wanted his IC title back, he would have to challenge Piper. The WWF used Piper and Hart’s alleged family relations in order to tell the story, Piper initially didn’t want to wrestle Bret as he had too much respect for the Hart family. Bret persisted though, and Piper agreed to a match at WrestleMania 8 against the Hitman. Piper vs Hart would turn into a masterclass in in-ring storytelling and psychology, resulting in one of WrestleMania’s greatest ever matches and one of the very best Intercontinental Championship matches in wrestling history. Shawn Michaels was the WWF’s most popular superstar during 1996. HBK had defeated Bret Hart at WrestleMania XII to become the WWF Champion and the company soon began revolving around Shawn Michaels. At the same time, over on WCW, the nWo had formed which led to many wrestling fans choosing World Championship Wrestling over the World Wrestling Federation. Shawn was the champion of a company that was quickly becoming the runner up, and HBK put a tremendous amount of pressure on himself during this time period. Shawn dropped the WWF title to Sycho Sid at the 1996 Survivor Series. The plan was for Shawn to win the title back in his hometown of San Antonio, TX at the 1997 Royal Rumble. At the pay per view, Shawn wasn’t 100%. The WWF claimed that HBK was sick but Shawn still worked the match and he still reclaimed the WWF Championship. Weeks later, Shawn decided to forfeit the title while claiming that he had “lost his smile”. The rivalry between the nWo Wolfpac and nWo Hollywood had come to an end, and it looked like the New World Order was going to get rebooted. Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, Scott Hall and Buff Bagwell became members of the Wolfpac, and this new mixture of superstars now wearing the red and black colours would become known as the "nWo Elite", or to be more specific, the "nWo Wolfpac Elite". Naturally, if one wasn't part of the "Elite", then you're on the B-team. While the nWo was supposed to be a united force once again in WCW, there was still a split. The nWo B-team, consisting of lower card superstars, were still presented as the "black and white" nWo while the Elite (wearing red and black) were featured in bigger matches with more prominence on TV. The Story of the WCW Fingerpoke of Doom
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios The "Fingerpoke of Doom" refers to an infamous incident that took place on WCW Nitro one week after Starrcade 1998. On January 4th 1999, Hulk Hogan challenged nWo Wolfpac leader Kevin Nash to a WCW Championship match. When the bell rung, Hogan poked Nash with his finger, Nash took a bump, and Hulk Hogan captured the World Heavyweight Championship. The Finger Poke of Doom has become the stuff of legend over the years. The story truly begins back in the Georgia Dome back on the 7.6.1998 episode of Nitro. At this event, Bill Goldberg defeated Hulk Hogan in what was a historic night in WCW history. At the end of 1998, Kevin Nash was able to end Goldberg's winning streak at Starrcade 98, a booking decision that still raises questions among wrestling fans. When Nash "lay down" for the Hulkster on Nitro after the Fingerpoke of Doom, those same questions surrounding Starrcade became more prominent. This video looks at the entire WCW Fingerpoke of Doom incident between Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan, we try to understand why it happened, and we also look at some of the misconceptions regarding it's effects on WCW's ratings. The Great Muta in WCW - feat. Dave Knows Wrestling

Western audiences first got the oppurtunity to see Mutoh work in the United States thanks to Mutoh's learning excursions to Florida during the mid 80s (working as The White Ninja) and again in Puerto Rico and World Class in Dallas (as The Super Black Ninja). It was really Mutoh's national exposure in the NWA affiliated WCW though that gained him the biggest following with American Wrestling fans. Working as The Great Muta, Keiji Mutoh became a regular on WCW programming beginning in March 1989. Managed by Gary Hart, The "Pearl of The Orient" would go on an incredible winning streak before meeting Sting, beginning a rivalry that is still fondly remembered today. From his critically acclaimed matches with Sting to his questionable booking at Starrcade 89, from becoming the NWA Champion in Japan to wrestling Steve Austin at Spring Stampede 1994, from joining the nWo to teaming up with Vampiro... this is The Great Muta in WCW. The Story of NXT Season 1
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Today NXT is known as one of the better current wrestling TV shows. NXT is used as a WWE developmental platform where superstars of tomorrow can learn to work the "WWE way" and get themselves prepared for weekly arena shows. Just like everything though, NXT had to evolve over time. The very first incarnation of NXT was nothing like the version we see today on Wednesday Nights. NXT was originally a reality show mixed with professional wrestling, or at least that's how the WWE described it. NXT was more like a contest that was similiar to the WWE's Tough Enough show. Basically, a group of WWE hopefuls would have to compete against eachother to earn a spot on the main WWE roster. Guys like Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel (PJ Black), Skip Sheffield (Ryback) and Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) all appeared on the first season of NXT, and this video will look at the journey these men took on the television show. The Story of RoboCop in WCW
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios With the WWF attracting a wider age demographic during the early 90s, WCW felt they had to begin appealing to a more youthful audience. The WWF had characters such as Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior; larger than life characters who looked like they were ripped straight from a comic book. WCW, in many ways, had appealed to an older demographic during the 80s with a more "no nonsense" style of professional wrestling. At Captial Combat 1990 however, WCW would get a little whacky when RoboCop made an appearance. Yes, RoboCop in WCW. Sting had joined the Four Horsemen in late 1989 but when the Stinger wouldn't give up his title shot against Ric Flair, he was ejected from the group. Sting also suffered an injury that would keep him on the shelf for a little while.. so backup was needed. A few phone calls from the heads of Turner Entertainment resulted in RoboCop coming to save Sting at the Captial Combat show. This video covers RoboCop's appearance on this WCW PPV event. #WCW #Wrestling #RoboCop

The Story of nWo Nitro
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios With the incredible success of WCW Monday Nitro and profits being at an all-time high within World Championship Wrestling, Ted Turner decided that a second prime time WCW television show was necessary. Eric Bischoff's nWo storyline had brought new viewers to WCW Nitro, and the executives at TBS felt that another show could easily copy the success of Bischoff's Monday Night wrestling show on TNT. Bischoff, however, wasn't prepared to start another show. The initial idea for the new "WCW Thunder" program on TNT was to create a traditional WCW show with WCW only wrestlers. WCW Nitro, meanwhile, would completely change to a nWo exclusive broadcast. The Monday Night wrestling show on TNT would get rebranded as "nWo Monday Nitro" and the New World Order would specifically go head to head with the WWF and Monday Night Raw. Bischoff felt that this was the best way to create two shows, have one show for WCW (Thunder) and the other for the ever expanding nWo. In order to test nWo Nitro, 2 hours of a traditional WCW Nitro broadcast were handed over to the New World Order. This video looks at those 2 hours. Owen could've stayed at home, but his lengthy WWF contract meant that he wouldn't be able to seek work elsewhere. And so, Owen Hart returned to the WWF in December of 1997. Owen was repackaged as "The Black Hart", the sole survivor of the Hart Foundation, and he initially set his sights on Shawn Michaels, the man who was instrumental in the "Montreal Screwjob". The WWF had an incredible oppurtunity to make a main event player out of Owen Hart due to the circumstances surrounding Bret's exit, and at first it appeared that the company where going to give Owen a chance. The Story of Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania IX
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Continuing on with the Career of Hulk Hogan, we have reached 1993 and the Hulkster's return to the WWF. Bret Hart had become the WWF champion when he defeated Ric Flair in 92. The WWF was trying to move in a new direction with a smaller but more athletic superstar at the top of the ladder. With guys like Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior gone at the end of 1992, and superstars such as Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon getting WWF title oppurtunities on pay per view, it looked like the WWF was ushering in a new era. This came to a screeching halt when Hulk Hogan returned to the WWF in February of 1993. Hogan would ultimately overshadow WWF Championship main event match at WrestleMania 9. The main event of WrestleMania IX featured Yokozuna taking on WWF Champion Bret Hart. Yokozuna had won the 1993 Royal Rumble and Hart had been having some good matches in the run-up to Mania. The WWF seemingly took a few steps back when they decided that Hulk Hogan would end up winning the WWF championship at the end of WrestleMania IX (even though he wasn't scheduled to have a WWF title match at the show). The British Bulldog in WCW (1993)
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios The British Bulldog had an excellent WWF career prior to joining WCW in 1993. Whether it was tagging up with Dynamite Kid in the British Bulldogs tag team or Davey’s solo work that led to the critically acclaimed Summerslam 1992 match with Bret Hart, The British Bulldog became an instantly recognizable superstar during the WWF’s glory days. When Davey Boy Smith was released from his WWF contract towards the end of 1992, World Championship Wrestling were quick to sign Davey to a brand new deal. WCW were planning on expanding their business and brand with a focus on their European tours, so bringing in The British Bulldog made a lot of sense. Davey was pushed right to the top in WCW almost instantly, challenging Big Van Vader for the WCW championship at Slamboree 1993 and again at a Clash of the Champions special. The British Bulldog also formed an alliance with Sting, creating the “Superpowers” tag team that was face Vader and Sid Vicious at Beach Blast 1993, many will remember this one for the mini movie that told the story of the match. The Undertaker: The Return of the Deadman at WrestleMania XX
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios We have reached the end of 2003 in our complete Undertaker career retrospective. The Undertaker took on WWE chairman Vince McMahon at the 2003 Survivor Series and thanks to Kane, Big Evil was put to rest and The Undertaker was written off television. At the 2004 Royal Rumble though, we learned that The Undertaker was alive and well. Although Mark Calaway didn't want to end the "American Badass" run of The Undertaker, the WWE higher-ups managed to talk Mark into coming back to the WWE as "The Deadman". Undertaker's previous gimmick that brought him to the dance, "The Phenom", was going to make his return at WrestleMania XX. 'Taker sent messages loud and clear to his little brother Kane in the run-up to Mania in 2004, and the career of The Undertaker was set to "All Begin... Again" in Madison Square Garden. The Story of Dennis Rodman in the nWo
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios Dennis Rodman in wrestling sounded like a far fetched idea in 1997 and 1998. When Dennis Rodman appeared in WCW and joined the nWo, the goal was to create as much media buzz as possible. The Chicago Bulls were the hottest and most succesfull basketball team in the NBA, making the Bulls a global brand with Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Rodman at the forefront. Dennis Rodman was already quite friendly with Hulk Hogan before 1997, Rodman had escorted Hogan to the ring during the 1995 Bash at the Beach main event. But when Rodzilla joined the nWo in 1997 and went on to compete in WCW Pay Per View shows, the media went into a frenzy and all eyes were on WCW. Between missing practice to show up on WCW Nitro and wrestling Karl Malone at the 1998 Bash at the Beach show, Dennis Rodman's time in wrestling was quite remarkable. Wrestling, the NBA, the nWo and Dennis Rodman himself were all at the height of their popularity. When Day of Reckoning was finally released, the media praised the game, calling it a suitable answer to the Smackdown series that had been dominating the wrestling game landscape. Austin vs Rock - The WrestleMania Trilogy
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios In the late 90s, the WWF benefited from having two huge main event superstars on the roster, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. Both guys had a legitimate claim of being the number 1 superstar in the whole wrestling business, and the WWF flourished greatly thanks to Austin and Rock being active at the same time during much of the Attitude Era. Stone Cold was a huge draw, his contributions to the WWF had resulted in the company seeing it's greatest financial growth in history, and The Rock had unmatched charisma that made him a megastar both inside and outside the ring. When Stone Cold Steve Austin faced The Rock at WrestleMania XV, the match was so good that it was eventually decided that both competitors would square off in a further two WrestleMania events. Each match was different from the other; WrestleMania XV was all about "The Corporation" taking down the blue-collar working man, WrestleMania X7 was about both men trying to prove that they were the number 1 guy in the wrestling business, and WrestleMania XIX told the story of the succesful entertainer coming back to get redemption in the ring. The WrestleMania Trilogy featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin vs The Rock was extremely captivating and this video aims to tell the story of each match. The Story of Money Inc in WWF
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios What happens when you put a millionaire with a tax man? You get Money Incorporated, one of the finest heel tag teams of the early 90s WWF. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase found the perfect partner in IRS, a man who could write off Dibiase's spending habits as business expenses. It really seemed like the gimmicks of The Million Dollar Man and IRS were made for eachother. While Ted Dibiase was already a succesful superstar towards the end of 1991, Mike Rotunda had just made his return to the World Wrestling Federation after spending some time in WCW. Rotunda had previously worked in the WWF as part of the US Express tag team, but it was his run as Irwin R. Schyster that was more memorable. I.R.S vowed to make superstars and fans alike pay their taxes, and this money orientated gimmick definitely paired up well with The Million Dollar Man's character. With Jimmy Hart as their manager, Money Inc went on to win the WWF Tag Team titles multiple times but curiously, most of their title matches were not televised. Hogan vs Flair : WrestleMania's Missed Opportunity
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Official Website: www.wrestlingbios.com Twitter: twitter.com/wrestlingbios When Ric Flair made his way to the WWF in late 1991, the wrestling world was sure that "The Nature Boy" would battle Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 8. Ric Flair came to the WWF holding the "Big Gold Belt", (the NWA / WCW championship) and Vince McMahon had no issues with showing the championship on WWF programming. Claiming to be "The Real World's Champion", Ric Flair's arrival garnered a ton of attention from the wrestling media. Hulk Hogan had regained the WWF Championship at WrestleMania VII. Throughout 1991 Hogan mainly worked with Sgt. Slaughter, but when Ric Flair made his WWF debut it seemed like the WWF didn't know what direction to go in. Sid Justice also made his WWF debut around the same time, and while the WWF were initially going to go with Sid vs Hogan at WrestleMania, the bigger drawing match would definitely be Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair. A series of events would lead to the Flair vs Hogan match not happening, and there have been many reasons given as to why the biggest marquee match in WWF history (at the time) didn't take place. The Story of Muhammad Hassan in WWE
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios The story of Muhammad Hassan in the WWE is quite peculiar. The gimmick portrayed by Marc Copani in World Wrestling Entertainment was seen as provoking yet smart, a heel character whose main gripe was the social climate in the United States. Along with Shawn Daivari, Muhammad Hassan would become one of the most intriguing characters of the WWE’s “Ruthless Aggression” era that ended up getting canned due to mounting pressure from the UPN Network. Marc Copani had received his wrestling training from Nick Dinsmore and Danny Davis at OVW. After spending around 2 years working as Mark Magnus, the WWE called Marc up to the big leagues. The character Marc would portray was Muhammad Hassan, a gimmick that many say was “too smart” for casual wrestling fans and a gimmick that garnered a lot of media attention. In the end, due to a Smackdown segment with The Undertaker, the WWE maybe went too far and the company was forced to release Muhammad Hassan from his WWE contract. The Story of LWO: Latino World Order
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please check out my Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios While the nWo were getting featured in the main event spots of WCW, the cruiserweights and luchadores of World Championship Wrestling were widely considered as the true workers of the company. Guys like Rey Mysterio Jr., Psychosis, La Parka and Eddie Guerrero were putting on fantastic, breath-taking matches on a weekly basis while guys like Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash grabbed huge paychecks for doing very little in the main event scene. A meeting between Eric Bischoff and Eddie Guerrero would lead to Eddie creating the LWO, the Latino World Order. The idea behind LWO was a group of Mexican superstars who were overlooked by Eric Bischoff and WCW. Eddie would say that Bischoff was paying the luchadores of WCW peanuts in order to wrestle eachother, and on top of this, the young stars of WCW were unable to break into a controlled main event picture. The LWO would rally together to fight back, and the faction set their sights on recruiting Rey Mysterio to complete their goal. This video looks at the entire LWO run in WCW. The Story of nWo 2000
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please visit my patreon page: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios The nWo stable and storyline had been incredibly succesful for WCW during the mid 90s. Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan changed the wrestling world by forming a heel group that would attempt to take over World Championship Wrestling, resulting in WCW defeating the WWF in the weekly television ratings. All good things must come to an end though, and by early to mid 1999, the nWo had drifted apart. When Vince Russo joined WCW as head of creative, he wanted to bring Bret Hart back into main event scene. Bret had been misused in WCW since his debut, and Russo saw the potential in raising Hart up to a spot that Russo felt Bret truly deserved. Within a month or so of Russo writing television, Bret was given the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. A month later, after a well documented match with Bill Goldberg at Starrcade 1999, Bret Hart turned heel, reviving the New World Order name in the process. This new version of the heel stable, known as nWo 2000, would also include The Outsiders, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner and eventually The Harris Brothers. The feud kicked off once again when Batista got upset over Shawn retiring Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24. The Story of Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho - WrestleMania XIX
If you'd like to support the channel, please visit patreon.com/wrestling_bios Throughout the mid 90s, Shawn Michaels was considered as the greatest sports entertainer in the world. While many will say Shawn rose to the top thanks to his backstage stroke and his relationship with the office, The Heartbreak Kid backed everything up with his performances in the ring. When Shawn took time away from the ring after WrestleMania XIV, other superstars in wrestling began climbing the ladder. A superstar who moved from WCW to the WWF was one Chris Jericho, an incredibly talented superstar who had worked around the world to become an exciting and entertaining wrestler in his own right. When HBK returned to the WWE in 2002 and after Shawn worked his return angle with Triple H, the decision was made to start a Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels storyline that would result in a WrestleMania match in 2003. The Story of nWo: Souled Out
If you would like to support Wrestling Bios, please check out my Patreon Page: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios The nWo storyline in professional wrestling was one of the most successful and lucrative angles that Eric Bischoff ever produced for World Championship Wrestling. With Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Hulk Hogan leading the way, the nWo became incredibly popular with wrestling fans across the world, eventually turning things around for WCW during the Monday Night TV ratings battle and helping WCW to become the biggest, most watched wrestling company in the United States. With the nWo’s popularity at an all-time high, Eric Bischoff decided to run a special pay per view event based around the heel WCW faction. Happening in January of 1997, nWo Souled Out promised to be like nothing we had ever seen before. In a drastic creative decision, Bischoff decided to move away from the standard PPV events that he (and Vince McMahon) produced in order to create an event that would look and feel very different. Eric was in a good position to experiment with WCW, the company was being handsomely funded by Ted Turner and Time Warner, and so trying things outside of the box was Eric’s philosophy as the nWo grew in popularity. nWo Souled Out, as Eric puts it, was an experiment. The whole show was built to further give the nWo it’s own identity. This video from Wrestling Bios takes a look at the creation of nWo Souled Out along with an in-depth look at the PPV show itself. Instead, the WWE Undisputed Champion would be able to travel to both Raw and Smackdown, and competitors from each brand were able to challenge the title holder. Ric Flair presented Triple H with a new Undisputed Title Belt one week after the draft, and the first man who wanted a match with The Game was The Undertaker. ‘Taker would have to first win a match against Stone Cold Steve Austin at Backlash 2002 before he got a shot at the gold. In the end, Undertaker faced Hulk Hogan at Judgment Day 2002 for the title, and “Big Evil” was able to become the new WWE Undisputed Champion after defeating the Hulkster on Pay Per View. During his reign as Undisputed Champion, The Undertaker would also feud with Jeff Hardy. The Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker feud is well remembered today thanks to their ladder match on Raw. The Story of Sting in WWE
Support me and my work on Patreon: www.patreon.com/wrestling_bios Wrestling Bios Presents - “The Story of Sting in WWE” When the man called Sting walked into a WWE arena in 2014, it felt like the final piece of the WCW puzzle had finally arrived in Vince McMahon’s World Wrestling Entertainment. The most popular and loyal superstar of WCW during the 90s had always said he wouldn’t jump to the WWF / WWE due not knowing how Vince McMahon would use the Sting character, but Steve Borden had a change of heart in 2014. Sting said he always wanted to work at WrestleMania, and Sting would get a chance to perform on the biggest wrestling stage in the United States in 2015. While the world was clamouring for the dream match of Sting vs The Undertaker, the decision was made to put Triple H in the ring with the former WCW icon. In a decision that many still question to this day, Sting lost his first WWE match against “The King of Kings” at the WWE’s biggest show of the year. Many see this a Vince McMahon still not letting go of his WCW rivalry, and others see this as the WWE trying to prove a point. Still, Sting remained in the company, working 2 more matches on Raw before arriving at Night of Champions 2015. In the main event, Sting would challenge the WWE Champion Seth Rollins. This would also be Sting’s final WWE match (to date). This video looks at the entire story of WCW’s franchise player finally arriving in the WWE. With his natural athletic pedigree, Brock Lesnar was approached by Vince McMahon and the WWF to begin work as a professional wrestler. When Brock made his first televised appearances in the WWF, he made people take notice. Triple H - Becoming "The Game"
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin Triple H is one of the WWE's biggest key players. Starting his career off as the Greenwich blueblood, Hunter seemed destined to stay in the WWF's midcard during the mid 90s, but an on-screen partnership with friend Shawn Michaels would elevate Triple H to the next level. When Shawn retired in 1998, many thought Triple H might've floundered back into the WWF's midcard. The night after WrestleMania XIV, Triple H famously "picked up the ball" that Shawn dropped, creating his own D-Generation X stable that went on to became insanely popular. Wanting more from his wrestling career though, Triple H made the decision to leave DX at the height of their popularity. HHH wanted to become the biggest heel in WWF history and he wanted the WWF Championship, something that wasn't afforded to him while he was in D-Generation X. The Career of The Undertaker: American Badass 2000 - 2002
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin The Career of The Undertaker Wrestling Bios series continues as we look at mid 2000 to mid 2002. The Undertaker had just reinvented himself as the "American Badass", a complete departure from the phenom's usual dark character. The American Badass Undertaker would ride motorcycles to ring, he would wear bandanas and jeans, and he would promise to make his opponents famous by destroying them in the ring. In the year 2000, after the Undertaker made his triumphant return to the WWF, the phenom found himself teaming up with his storyline brother Kane once again. By the time Summerslam arrived, The Undertaker and Kane were on opposing sides, facing eachother in yet another match featuring the Brothers of Destruction going head to head. The rivalry didn't last long however, as the brothers found a new enemy in The Two Man Power Trip, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H. When the Power Trip vs Brothers of Destruction feud ended, The Undertaker would have his hands full when WCW's Diamond Dallas Page made his WWF debut, and from here, Undertaker would defend the WWF when the Alliance invaded the World Wrestling Federation. After the Invasion, the Undertaker turned heel and, once again, Mark Calaway evolved his Undertaker character. With WCW Nitro having the financial backing of Ted Turner and TBS, Vince McMahon would soon realise that he now had real competition in the world of wrestling. This time period is known as the "Monday Night Wars", a legitimate boom period in wrestling that brought in new fans as wrestling became insanely popular thanks to WCW Nitro and WWF Raw. This time we will look at the 13.11.95 editions of WWF Monday Night Raw and WCW Nitro. The First Ever WWF Draft
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin When Vince McMahon purchased WCW, the initial plan was to air a WCW television show on a weekly basis. When no interest was shown by networks, Vince was left with an incredibly large roster and little television time. Along with this, there was no more competition left for the WWF to conquer. It was decided then that the WWF would create it's own competition by splitting it's roster in two, creating 2 separate brands of the WWF. The Raw Brand and the Smackdown Brand would have unique rosters, a unique weekly television show, and eventually, both rosters would have their own pay per view events. The original brand split happened in 2002 when the WWF held the very first draft on WWF television. With Ric Flair owning Raw and Vince McMahon owning Smackdown, the split owners of the World Wrestling Federation would choose superstars to represent their respective brands. The Story of the WCW Invasion: End of The Alliance
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin When Vince McMahon purchased WCW in 2001, fans began dreaming about the upcoming dream matches that could be put on TV. With Vince McMahon controlling both the WWF and the WCW brand, many fans expected to see matches like Sting vs Undertaker, Goldberg vs Steve Austin, The Rock vs Diamond Dallas Page and so on. Fans quickly realised though that the planned WCW Invasion storyline would not work out as expected, and this came down to contractual agreements. With WCW's biggest superstars still getting paid through AOL Time Warner, many guys like Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash decided to stay at home and collect a free paycheck. Vince and the WWF still had the WCW brand in their possesion though, and the McMahon wanted to begin airing a WCW television show along with WCW exclusive pay per views. Viacom, the owner of TNN, didn't like the idea of a WCW show without the biggest stars of the company, and so the deal fell through. Vince was left with a lot of mid-tier WCW talent, and so an Invasion storyline was booked where WCW (and eventually ECW) would try to take over the WWF. This video continues on from the last Invasion upload, picking up after the WWF Invasion 2001 pay per view and ending with the 2001 Survivor Series and the episode of Monday Night Raw that followed. The Story of the WCW Invasion: The Alliance vs WWF
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin For years, the WWF and WCW were rivals and fans would discuss what would happen if guys like the WWF’s Undertaker faced off with WCW’s Sting, what if DX had a match with the nWo, the possibilities were endless. In 2001, Vince McMahon was able to purchase WCW when the higher ups at AOL Time Warner decided they did not want wrestling on their television networks, and so these dream matches could now be a real possibility. Plans were put in place for a WCW invasion. This storyline would take over the WWF’s programming for nearly half a year, and when all was said and done, some fans were left scratching their heads. Many of WCW’s biggest superstars like Ric Flair, Goldberg and the nWo had lucrative contracts with WCW’s former parent company Time Warner, and many of these top stars did not make the jump over to the WWF. Instead, the bigger stars of WCW decided to collect a paycheck for sitting at home. The WWF still went ahead with the WCW invasion storyline, however they had to use somewhat “lesser” superstars. To compensate, wrestlers from ECW were also brought in to give the WCW roster a boost, and so the WCW invasion became “The Alliance” invasion. The Scrapped Kane vs Kane WWE Storyline
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin Wrestling Bios Presents - The Scrapped Kane vs Kane WWE Storyline In 2006, the WWE promoted "See No Evil" on their weekly television shows. See No Evil was a movie produced by WWE Studios starring Kane, the WWE's very own Big Red Machine. The film would be released on May 19th 2006, and the WWE decided to present a storyline on WWE shows where the date "May 19th" would play a huge role. The storyline itself was used to promote Kane's new movie, but the May 19th date would also hold some significance to the actual Kane character. While Kane has been involved in some of wrestling's most prolific (and outlandish) storylines, the angle that centered around May 19th and the "Imposter Kane" is maybe a storyline that the WWE would like you to forget. Kane would come face to face with an past version of himself, the imposter wore Kane's original mask and his mannerisms were very similar to those of the Big Red Machine. Wrestling fans, however, weren't too enamoured with the Kane vs Imposter Kane storyline and match, and the WWE decided to completely erase the angle and pretend like it never happened. This mini documentary from Wrestling Bios takes a look at the Kane vs Kane "May 19th" storyline of 2006. Topics covered include: 00:00 - Kane and The Big Show dominate the Tag Team division 04:15 - Kane's obsession with May 19th 09:25 - Imposter Kane makes his debut 12:39 - Kane vs Imposter Kane at Vengeance 2006 14:27 - What was planned for Imposter Kane? - Much More! #WWE #Documentary #Wrestling
The Story of The WCW Yeti
If you would like to support the channel and my work, please consider becoming a channel member: alfirst.info/nick/If44toFAHLORJ8dwEQkh9gjoin When it comes to moments in wrestling that are remembered for all the wrong reasons, the debut of WCW's Yeti instantly comes to mind. World Championship Wrestling brought Halloween Havoc 1995 to audiences via pay per view, and the main event would feature Hulk Hogan defending his WCW championship against The Giant. The Giant had aligned himself with The Dungeon of Doom stable in WCW, and to ensure The Giant had an upperhand against Hogan, an insurance policy was introduced to help the "Son of Andre". This insurance policy was the Yeti, a new character in WCW who broke out from a block of ice. The Yeti, however, was quite odd. Not only did the Yeti look like a mummy, but he was also referred to as the "Yettay" by Tony Schiavone on commentary. Along with this, the Yeti's bearhug on Hulk Hogan has became infamous in it's own right. This video takes a look at "The Yet-tay" in WCW. Topics covered include: 00:00 - Introducing The Dungeon of Doom and The Giant 03:47 - Hulk Hogan turns to the Darkside 07:35 - The original plans for "The Yeti" character 09:04 - Halloween Havoc 1995 14:00 - The Yeti character gets scrapped - Much More! #WWE #WCW #Wrestling
Agree New Orleans was great fun, fingers crossed we can have a proper WrestleMania get together soon
My dream match has always been Muta vs RVD.
Ric Flair theme song is called Sprach Zarathustra.
The 2006 run was my childhood..to me the ruthless aggression era was it for me .and dx was a big part of that
I always liked Brian Pillman in the Four Horsemen but I felt he joined too late. I would have replaced Sid with Pillman and have the Horsemen be Flair, Arn, Barry and Pillman. Didn't like Steve McMichael that much either in the group and I would have chosen Steven Regal. Curt Henning aka Mr. Perfect replacing Arn Anrderson as the Enforcer was perfect( pun absolutely intended) and its a same didn't last. Jeff Jarrett was okay and Chris Benoit was like a modern version of Ole Anderson but didn't have the mic skills and Dean Melanko was great worker but dull personality. The Last Horseman was Ric, Mongo, Chris Benoit and Dean Melanko. I wished it would have been Ric Flair, Barry Windham, Curt Henning and Jeff Jarrett.
8:56 - Hendrix 2024!
Money inc was my favorite tag team after the hart foundation I thought dibiase was 1 of the best heels and irs was a great character the name was perfect for the initials
Surprised they aired the Michaels - Cassidy match with so many botches
I swear hhh is a shao khan fan i wonder if we will ever see crowds like that again. 😣
Wrestlers entrance they walking down a ramp has oppose to a flat surface from entrance to the arena to the ring the cart drive star8 along .
CUZ IM AN ASS MAN
That part where you can see Brian's faces moments before he throws shamrock to the table, Damn.... classic
The Kane entrance at WM 21 was legit too with all the ladders on fire and Kane cracking up when he seen it too
Test: (To HHH) "Payback and Stephanie have one thing in common... They're both a bitch!" - Classic
Def gotta put the Miro/ Rusev one up there, dude arrived in a freaking tank LOL.
Legion of doom Wm 7 in1991
Loved taker vs kane WM14 intro, especially tombstonning Pete rose lol
"Super fly comes out to an odd round of boo's" Right. Strange before the internet exists that a wife beater and murderer gets boo'd.
Whats the point if you dont show the entrance?
3:37 WORZEL ALERT
14:30 HA! The guy on the right of the photo doing the DDP sign has his hands perfectly in a way that the guy standing behind him has only his nose and mouth visible. This sentence isn't funny, but the instance is.....
WWF IN YO HOUSE🌝WWF ARCADEEEEE💫🌍🎮🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🌟🌟🌟🗒📋📰📝💸💸💸💸💸📺♨♨♨💬💭🗯
I liked my time entrace theme song because it was all about triple h he does things on his time and his shedule when he want to do it and also I also liked motorhead theme song called the game it absolutely rocks
I also liked drowning pools version of the game they preformed it live at wrestlemania 18 it was a great song
I also liked the higher brain and our time for triple h and stephanie McMahon
Rusev in the tank at WM31 was so awesome. Even better if you believe what he and Lana say they did in the tank before the match.
Scott Hall and Kevin Nash coming in to WcW was better than the entire WWF “Invasion” story.
Undertaker wm30
Nobody will have better wrestlemania entrances than triple h!
The last skit was done on the preshow to WrestleMania to avoid any controversy with the USA network and involved the Jerry the king Lawler and Vince McMahon in a MST3K style segment watching the huckster and the nacho man wrestling until they both die from heart attacks. It was done to both kill off the segment, characters and as a final shot at turner as it doubles down on everything said in previous segments, no one ever talks about it probably due to it not airing on raw and instead on the preshow to a ppv
One Word💬: AMAZING☺😌🤨🗯💭🗯♨♨♨♨♨♨♨♨♨♨ WELCOME TO THE WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION🌍💫💫💫💫💫💫✨✨✨✨🕯📉🗒📰📺🎮🌟🌟🌟🌟
So many firsts in the wwe/f that happened with the deadman
Putting Nakamura with all that legends is very cringe.
Saw them go against each other in a house show in Jackson Ms. late 90s Sting won crowd went wild.
Bishoff, Anderson, Ultimate Warrior and every WCW wrestler and fan myst be real happy knowing how they single handedly pushed him to suicide
Please do part 2
Cena at WM22 with the Chicago gangsters and a certain chick magnet Phil!!😂class.
We need a Filthy Animals bio!!
I liked The Undertaker's No Grave Can hold my body.
I agree that Punk's reaction to the Undertaker's entrance was pretty special in itself
It's sad to see Bobby Eaton in that gimmick, also looking increasingly out of condition :s
He got lucky he didn’t tore his quad while getting poked by Hogan. Lol! 😂
why vince didnt test the owen hart contraption first?
It was the moment that ruined everything, regardless of numbers sustaining, the damage that moment did will never be forgotten.
Who is on the thumbnail? That’s not fair to click bait like that
Pete Quinell shat his trousers in a live stream yesterday on his D&D channel.
Heel Austin was A TERRIBLE GOD AWEFUL IDEA
It's cuz they knew wat they were doing. Wwe wanted to bury every single wcw star cuz wcw really did almost put vince out of business. But karma's a bitch. Vince buried all wcw stars and it cost him the end of the most profitable time of wrestling business. Wwe has never recovered from it. And now they rely on old washed stars including booking wcw stars properly cuz the ratings are so trash now
I think other Taker v Sting , the other match I really wanted to see was Shawn Michaels vs Eddie Guerrero.
Cult of Personality, not Second City Saint, for Punk's entrance.
The Second City Saints was an American professional wrestling stable in Ring of Honor, consisting of CM Punk, Colt Cabana and Ace Steel. They were also managed sporadically by Lucy and Traci Brooks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Second_City_Saints
19:34 I think 2005 was the year when The Undertaker was rejuvenated and showed he could still work and not just play a phenomenal character. I think people find it forgettbale because his 2007-10 run was more memorable and then they totally botched 2006 by booking him like it was 1992-94 all over again with some big guys
Benzos and opioids can take ya down. I remember after eating 10 bars one night. I woke up 3 days later having no clue WTF happened.
WM 22 I was there it's a totally different vibe from a raw also caught myself in the dvd
14:58 Hogan couldn't just drop the title clean to The Giant and help him further his career, instead he had it vacated so he won't look weak. SMH.
Probably the best rivalry of 2005. This made Randy from a promising superstar, to one of the biggest names in WWE history
John Cena and FAMU band entrance, so memorable
Triple H has some of the greatest I’m saying this prior to viewing
Andre's entrance in 3 was good but his exit in 6 was even better!
Memories....
15:17 I would put 14 in there. The whole druids and the thunder and lightning was magnificent
12:30 I think the Rock's WrestleMania 19's entrance was better with the whole Hollywood gimmick
The ring psychology raven had.
I was at Mania 12 and it was pretty awesome in person watching Shawn fly across the Anaheim Pond
I have to say u do an amazing job with these videos..... U do ur homework & put in. The high quality needed to deliver a high quality video for every single guy u do..... 2 thumbs up man great job....keep up the great work....i love what u do
The Undertaker coming from under the stage in black and Shawn Michaels coming down from the rafters in all white before they do battle
"All hell has broken loose at Uncensored, and hell brought with him a baseball bat.''
Ive always loved undertakers mania 21 entrance where he glides down the ramp.
If u enjoy watching goldberg matches u are no better then a trump supporter 😉
Buff will always be The stuff!
Shout out at Randy Orton's entrance at WM 33, HE RODE A SPERM! Enough said
I watched this when it aired. I stopped watching wcw after this.
The wrestler that used to give Vince a hard on
I’m rewatching all of this on the network and let me say this is a beautiful watch. I’m wholeheartedly thanking you for breaking this down. One of my all time favorite stables, “The Outsiders.” And eventually becoming the NWO. I love it. The best time to be a wrestling fan. Though I was young and did not actually start watching until 1997 with my uncle. The reason why I’m reliving it on the Network.
Bret 100 times out of 100.....Nothing more needed to be said!
"Blows to the head." picture of Stacy*.........I see whatcha did there! ;)
Fair play to you for doing all these. I do enjoy listening to them every night great memories
Been a fan of the channel since day 1. Another great video. Keep it up mate 👏
Hulk Hogan is one of the best ever and his haters need to SHUT UP!
The charming skate substantively stuff because drink supply trot concerning a nimble sunday. square, somber restaurant
Piper, Jake and Flair in the ring at the same time make it the best ever ... just these three in the ring alone.
Johnny cash entrance was everything for taker
Charlotte’s entrances, like her matches, leave me in awe ❤️ 👑
