The Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak was, and still is, the stuff of legend. Fans would tune into WrestleMania every year for over 2 decades to see The Undertaker defeat another opponent, guys like Triple H, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Edge, Diesel, Kane and CM Punk all fell victim to The Phenom at the WWE's biggest event of the year. The Undertaker and The Streak became a WrestleMania tradition that no one thought would end.
At WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans, Brock Lesnar stepped up to take on The Undertaker. While the buildup to Taker vs Lesnar was similar to any other Undertaker WrestleMania match, the outcome left fans shocked. Brock Lesnar defeated the Undertaker, Lesnar became the "one in 21 and 1", and fans didn't know how to take it. Many thought that a mistake was made at WrestleMania 30, others thought Lesnar went into business for himself, it was theory after theory as fans came to terms with the legenedary undefeated streak ending at WrestleMania 30.
This video looks at how the Lesnar vs Undertaker Mania 30 match came together, the reaction to the streak ending, and the reasons why The Undertaker's legendary sting of victories came to an end at the hands of Brock Lesnar.

The End of The Undertaker's WrestleMania Streak

THIS VIDEO IS 100% BS! THE STREAK NEVER ENDED!!!!!
Lesnar made wrestling so believable. I don't have a problem with prime lesnar ending the streak of aging taker.
Tbh as much as I wanted the Streak to end (to help a new guy), I still feel Lesnar (like Undertaker himself said) didn't needed it. Like him squashing Cena at Summerslam'14 was more impactful imo than winning the streak, plus Lesnar was in category with guys like Cena/Orton (Not so young). Young guys like (Hillbilly on Crack) Bray, (Tribal Chief) Roman, (Messiah) Seth, (Prizefighter Heel) Kevin Owens could've been benefitted big time!
Stopped watching wwe after this only recently started watching it again because of war games
Why does Taker have a head shave I liked his hair long
I'm probably in a minority here, but I think Taker should have gone out undefeated at Mania. Though the streak having gone as long as it did is still an amazing feat that will take a long time for any other wrestler to match let alone top.
I was there and just stood with my hands on my head for what felt like forever. When they put the 21-1 on the screen to my left it was like my god how did this happen.
Theres 1 question no one has asked Vince(as far as im aware),Would the wrestlemania 30 streaking end plan still happen had brock not returned to wwe and since at the time there was romurs brock was gonna leave before wrestlemania 30 would it have still happened
But why to Lesnar? No one gained anything with that? Lesnar didn't need it, Heyman didn't need it and Taker sure as hell didn't gain from it in any way. It should have been Rollins or Reigns or any other young guy who was sure to stay.
I stopped following wrestling for 3 years after that.
Absolute waste, turning Cena heel to end the streak would have been seismic.
Ummm... Don't get me wrong, I love this series, but we're not even gonna gloss over Taker vs Batista, Edge, and Shawn? Let alone Punk? Just gonna jump from Orton right to Brock? Did I miss an episode somewhere? Maybe they're all covered under a different series?
I'm addicted to your channel. I just want to thank you for all of the hard work and time you put in to getting us these quality videos.
I’ve had four diagnosed concussions in my life and I can’t imagine walking five feet let alone continuing a match after being concussed
Don’t forget that match inspired one of the best memes in wrestling history
I can handle the fact Undertaker 's streak has ended, but what I hate it was Brock Lesnar. He didn't deserve it, he's a joke. The thing I hate more is the fact Undertaker spent all this time in WWE without more titles.
I really believe that 2014 Undertaker have the same vibes and look on his Minister of Darkness persona
It shouldn’t have ever ended, this could’ve been the most incredible streak in wrestling/sport/pop culture/history and yet now it’s ended it’s basically insignificant. Such a shame
The streak should have never ended
I have no problems with the streak ending. My problem is having the undertaker lose again to Roman Reigns. It was an embarrassment.
He should have lost to Bray Wyatt.
I would like to thank you for this video. it is sad to watch the streak ends, but I guess it was inevitable, one day or another.
Its like the world stopped for a moment
Honestly, Taker's career should've ended here. I would've chosen either Shawn Micheals, John Cena or CM Punk to end the streak. Don't kill me, but after hearing this, It being Brock was a good call. Brock's 2012 to present run has shown him as unbeatable and unstoppable. This is good validation for why he is the unbeatable force he is. Honestly, 2012 - Present Brock Lesnar would steamroll 1985 - 1990 Hulk Hogan.
I remember hoping The Rock or John Cena would face the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30 since there were rumors about those two facing him. I didn’t want Brock to face him but deep down I knew it would be him. Then it ended up being him lol.
With all due respect to the Undertaker, he wasn't getting any younger either, so yeah... It was bound to happen at one point or another. But his loss to Reigns was still a dumb decision if you ask me.
Nice 1 2 3 edit!
Did you skip over videos on undertakers 2005-2013 years?
Another fantastic video as always. Binged this Undertaker series like mad. Can't wait for a video filling in the gap between after WM21 and this
Being concussed is like a loud ass gong and ringing in your head I mean your head is vibrating not cool at all you can't focus
Brock knew what the reaction from the entire wrestling world would be he'd be hated for this for the rest of his wrestling career. gotta give it to him for accepting what kind of heat would fall on his shoulders other wrestlers have flat out refused to end the streak knowing what it would bring them
if you watch the Broken Skull Sessions One More Round with the Undertaker and Stone Cold, he actually mentioned he didn't want to drop the streak to Brock because he knew it wouldn't have given him any push at all since Brock was basically a part timer. He really wished he dropped the streak to Roman Reigns instead.
I Miss The Undertaker So Much
I will never forget where i was when the streak ended. I was at buffalo wild wings sitting outside and the place was packed and rowdy like normal. But when the ref hit 3 when taker lost there was this collective gasp and that place went quiet as hell. Then everyone was mumbling and confused. I dont think lesnar was the right guy but Lesnar ending the streak was the most shocking moment in mania history hands down.
That promo undertaker did about his doubt of the streak, that's when I knew the streak was over.
I can believe that the concussion happened outside the ring because I've been severely concussed before. My most severe one happened at work. When it happened it didn't immediately effect me aside from being a little dazed. Matter of fact I remember the next half hour afterwards. After that though I steadily became more and more belligerent. I don't remember going home that night or any of the next day. The timing seems to line up with the drop on the outside is all I'm saying.
you forgot to mention about that one fan who put £20k on taker to win against brock, i actually made contact with him, and he swears blind it wasn't a hoax, and he did bet 20k, he would of won only £500 if he won lol.
I don't think many YT channels cover the streak to be honest, good to see a video about it. Can't wait till next time!
In a way, I feel that the concussion made the match better, believe it or not. The entire story of the match was that Taker had finally bitten off more than he could chew, and he was overmatched. And he simply couldn't pull off the win. So in Kayfabe, it worked perfectly.
You're channel is my favourite wrestling channel. You actually give us quality content and bring us back to the glory days of wrestling. Keep up the amazing work. You have my sub.
Vince should of waited until WM 32 and ended the streak in Texas the undertaker home state and pass the torch onto Bray Wyatt and in the process they could of started a streak for Bray since WM 30 but typical WWE they buried Bray and gave the streak to Brock who really did not needed at all for his character cause nobody remembers Brock for that but for his first run in WWE and his match at WM 19 .. but the streak is over !
Should've been sting. Period. Surfer sting preferably
I hated how the Undertaker's streak was ended by Lesner. He really has no dedication to wrestling. I wish Roman Reigns or Bray Wyatt ended it with that as the only loss.
Its heartbreaking
The only idea worse than ending the Undertaker's streak was who they chose to do it. It was a total slap in the face to those who had followed Mark Calaway from his early days to have a hack like Brock Lesnar beat him. It should have been someone at least slightly iconic. Sting would have been a better choice (icon vs. icon, streak vs. career maybe even), or someone like HHH. But not Blockhead Lesnar.
They really should have ended the Undertaker's career when the streak ended. He is a legend and provided some wonderful wrestling memories however, seeing Taker a shell of himself was painful. The Roman Reigns match and the match with Goldberg should never have happened.
Taker was always boring
Still the worst decision the WWE has ever made. And they did a lot of horrible decisions!
Brock saved this match in more ways than one.
That wasn't the real Undertaker that lost to Brock (or Roman)...that was Ted DiBiase's Undertaker that lost to the real one at Summerslam 94. He came back for revenge and kidnapped the real Undertaker then took his place. He was the one who lost. The real Undertaker then broke free and re-emerged at Wrestlemania 34 against Cena......or at least that's my fan theory that I'm sticking to🤔😁
All things eventually come to an end
The entire Wrestlemania crowd drew silent. It's surreal when such a thing happens on a normal show let alone a stage such as Wrestlemania. Gives me chills to this day.
I am going to miss undertaker
Taker has been a bitch for over 20 years. Never earned his spot. Never got in a fight for real. Played dress up in a fake fighting company until his mid 80s. Literally a huge mark. With powder for knees. Lol what a legend
As a Die Hard WWE Fan, I'm FUCKIN' glad the STEAK ENDED! 26-2
That concussion was a shame but it did make the end of the match so much more impactful. Undertaker looked completely lost as if he had no idea what just happened. And most of us felt the same trying to process what just happened.
YOU SHOULDA PUT THE PART WHERE BROCK AND TAKER ALMOST GOT INTO A FIGHT AFTER BROCKS UFC MATCH
WOW, 2014!! Damn time has passed since that day. My son is six now and he was born 5 months after Mania!
Undertaker is my all time favorite but he did really lose to giant Wrestlemania two I believe
As much as I'm in the same boat as everyone who says the streak should've never been broken, I never knew had badly Taker got concussed during the match. Regardless if losing the streak was always going to be the outcome, it's commendable how Lesnar worked with Taker to make the match what it was.
You should cover the Shawn Michaels rivalry thanks for everything you do man
the man comes around..nice choice!
To this day, I'm still pissed that they chose to break the streak.
I always felt the streak ending should have been his last match
Heyman cut the best promo I ever seen inside a ring on The Raw after WM30.
The worst decision ever made in wrestling was to end the streak. You hear the mantra often - give back to the business. In this one rare instance, I truly believe that the business should have given back to the Undertaker. He truly deserved to retire with that streak in tact.
Wrestling Bios...we need CM Punk's departure and return to WWE. Please.
and now Brock is a free agent in 2020. I wonder if Vince is now regretting it or not. It's like he doesn't know where the future is going and where is holding up so he made a call. That was then, 2014. This is now, 2020.
I haven't seen this match, but Vince's explanation from this podcast footage only makes partial sense. Brock had already become a superstar & legend a decade ago prior to this WM. They should have made this Roman Reigns guy end the streak, even though it's not believable that he can dominate Taker. From what I've read no one liked him anyway, & this could have launched his heel turn much earlier with monster heat. Vince probably made that call for shock value
When he gets whipped into the barrier watch his head snap back that probably did it
It was a great match. I was surprised when Taker lost but when I re watch it I see how great and intense the match was.
Looking back, it was the right decision. If Undertaker wins at Wrestlemania 30, no one is beating him.
I think, personally speaking, Bray Wyatt should've ended the Streak, while Lesnar took on Daniel Bryan.
Always thought Brock WASN'T a worthy wrestler for Undertaker to lose to......
So much stuff not even noticed about this feud cause the finish lmao. Love the build up with Heyman vs Taker.
Brock !!! People say he shouldn’t have ended it but that’s the point 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ literally when was the last time EVERYONE was shocked by a outcome in WWE ? Suplex City Bitch
Eat, sleep, Conquer, repeat. Eat, sleep, conquer, the streak.
Are you ever gonna do a video about la familia
If not for takers concution the streak would have never ended. RIP undertaker.
Only came across this channel recently but I gotta say your now my favourite Wrestling channel to go to. I love your WcW documenters, especially around Hogan, very much grew up with WcW and your documentaries are flawless and very well put together, on top of that you come across as a decent guy who isn't forcing cringy jokes or forced comedy into your videos unlike many other channels coverinf Wrestling, and that's a huge plus for me, consider me subbed! Keep up the great work.
Brock agreeing to break the streak meant he didn’t care about nor respected the wwe fans or the undertaker himself. He only cares about making himself look good
UT somehow has the strength to TOMBSTONE Brock while concussed? I strongly suspect that concussion was a work. UT is already concussed and you put Brock in that position? So much for any sort "wellness policy".
The steak should have ended. Due 2 how things look, it should have been roman reigns not brock Lesnar
It never should have ended oeriod
fun fact, undertaker got a concussion during the match with Brock
Ugh I still disagree with this decision !! Should’ve been Bray or CM Punk.... Brock didn’t need tht win
Taker is a class act.
If they waited a year it could've been huge For Bray Wyatt... That would've actually boosted someone.
Cm punk should had end the streak next year
@Tollah Tv ferkah hell yea better then brock who else you had in mind then
Hell no
Looking back on it, it should have been obvious what the finish was but we didn't want to believe it. Remember the Hell in the Cell match they had back in the day and who won. Also notice the marketing behind the "Eat, Sleep, Break the Streak" and "Eat, Sleep, Conquer the Streak" They were basically promoting the finish to us. Not to mention that Undertaker wanted the streak to end already. Paul Heyman did an excellent job getting us to buy into it.
I loved the streak and as a fan I was hopeing Undertaker would remain undefeated untill he retired that would have been impressive to remain undefeated at wrestlemaina. While I figured Vince would at some point have Undertaker lose I was hopeing it would be for a up and coming star to help build his career. I agree with Undertaker when he talked about the streak on Austin's show. Lesner didn't need to end the streak beating Undertaker at Wrestlemaina did nothing for his career. Lesner was already a star, it would have been better to help a new up and coming star and get the rub from beating Undertaker at Wrestlemaina.
Undertaker's streak was impressive and could have lasted longer because Undertaker missed 2 Wrestlemaina's. he missed Wrestlemaina 10 and 16. look it up he is not on the cards. I assume he was injuryed both times and was the reason he missed both Wrestlemaina's.
Taker should have NEVER lost the streak. Brock didn't need that win, not did Roman Reigns. This will forever be one of those mistakes like Austin joining McMahon at Wrestle mania XVII
I was there when the streak died, and never watched THAT match again.... #ThankyouTaker
It's silly idea that Taker would refuse to end the streak, considering streak could've ended sooner with Randy Orton winning it way back, and it being Orton who refused to end it.
I still haven't heard WHY!!
Major respect for Brock at 15:59. It's little things like this that go unnoticed and I am glad you highlighted how Brock went out of his way to make sure Undertaker was safe by changing things on the fly.
I think it could have started at the leg sweep outside and built up the longer the match went on. I really think his inactivity really did catch up to him like he said himself because he took a spot exactly like that in a Hell in a Cell match with Brock Lesnar years before without a major concussion.
Wrestlemania 30 was such a great show. Not quite everything was perfect (this was back when the WWE was using women's matches for bathroom breaks instead of giving them a legit push, and John Cena was still doing the "LOL Cena wins" schtick), but Daniel Bryan's ascension, the Rock/Hogan/Austin appearance, and the end of the streak gave this show such a sheen..
16:12 Amazing ring IQ
