Jim Cornette really should be praised for his early work with Vader. He always seemed like he was scared shitless of what Vader might do. A great 'uncontrolable monster' gimmick.
These botched finishes got 2 points this week. Just my opinion, but that should carry more weight
lmao why didn't the ref dq savage when he saw AA hit flair !!
Great ep! And Hogan never gets any points here!
"Real American and all around great guy..." lol you got me with this one
SHAWN shoulda been in a 12 Step Program. The VADER ANGLE was INCREDIBLE, especially if you were a long time fan.. HOW MUCH HOGAN can one take ??? Nice to have a 1987 Main Event on NITRO. GOLDUST doesn't get buried, he lost to THE WWF Champ. He's the IC CHAMP. They are on Different Levels.
Cool to be on this episode as a remembrance of Kevin Greene.
Good Shawn only 9 steps left
Remember this WWF like it was yesterday. Vader Monsoon. Quality !
do you think they planned nick Patrick being heel referee way back this early in the war ?
Hogan loves that hulking up.
Seeing THE massive moster heel of the past (Gorilla Monsoon) taking a big bump to get over a nwe massive monster heel is just brilliant. Alas Vader's time in WWF/E didn't reach its full potential!
I dont think Hogan or HHH have won a single segment yet..
Thank you for up loading the war between wcw monday nitro and wwf monday night raw
Haha! I literally laughed out loud when you called Nick Patrick a "sh*t referee", perfectly delivered sir. Another fantastic recap, thank you!.. I have a question about one thing, you refer to some things (brass knuckles, the roll of quarters) as "international objects". Is that a common term for illegal objects, or a regional phrase? Just curious, thanks!
This review is ridiculous. I get it that you dont like Hulk Hogan. If that is the case then stop doing these reviews if you're incapable of judging without being biased. How does Vader vs Savio Vega beat Savage vs Flair with a title change. Un unbelieveable
I remember that Macho title win. I'm a WWF fan. By far. But you got that one wrong. It was Macho Madness Monday. I'm trademarking that. Lol
Might've been the best thing that ever happened on a Monday in 1996.
The Mastodon! Lol
Vader's punches look very painful.
so good!
I was a kid watching these years on TV! This era was full blown entertainment!!! Every HERO was there. 20+ years later watching this replay no one can away great times! This was #WrestlingHistory at its finest. No favoritism.
This channel is a wwe fan channel ran by a unbiased wwe mark
Jim Cornette always had great mic skills.
Favorite show on youtube! Good stuff man!
I really love this series. Came across it about a week ago and I have been binge watching since then, catching up. I like how you cover some of the little things about the shows that many people have forgotten about. I probably spent more time watching Nitro than Raw up until the last year, but there were certainly moments when the creative decisions of WCW caused me to bang my head against the wall. Your analysis is very even handed and fair. You are good at stating your case. Keep it up.
Hogan was always trying to steal Savages shine.
Question: I'm sure you've gotten this before, but I'm just curious, but once Nitro moves to two hours, are you going to be just giving points to the opposed hours?
"And then a trash can feels the wrath of the mastadon." lol
Thanks very much !! Now I can't un-see Vader's singlet the wrong way around 🙈🙈
Goldust's whole IC title run was a joke in 1996. They made him lose to Piper at WM12. After winning the belt I can't think of any high profile wins he had back then. As for Hogan now I see why they let him sit on the title for what felt like 2 straight years when he was in NWO. His move set was terrible and he was way over exposed.
One of my absolute favorite channels on ALfirst. I watch every episode and it takes me back to being a young child. You, my friend, should have many many more subscribers than you do. You’ll get there, as your solid work will not go unnoticed ! Thank you for doing what you do 🤘🏻😎
I was 12 when this happened and had already outgrown wrestling
123 kid is the best looking female wrestler in this era
Can't stand Hot Dog Hogan!!
Where do you get your intro themes?
Vader knows about the backwards singlet. He says he wore it backwards because he had an aching upper back and the tightness gave him the psychology of extra support...
Vader ALWAYS has his gear on backwards.LoL
Awesome memories from the good times of wrestling entertainment 👍
I miss these liddle things like: the rev didn't see the tag, or heels using the robes during submissions
No way that tag match was better than the Michaels/Cornette segment. Your bias is showing.
I love you wrestling bios you are awesome
Love the videos man.. reminds me of my childhood🙌💪
Luger screaming “OH!” while selling is legendary.
It seemed like every bump or hit he would take he would be screaming "Oh!" or "Ow!" It was hilarious but at the same time got on my nerves.
Jim Cornette is & always was pure wrestling gold... Period.
I can't wait for Hogan's heel turn cuz then the stuff he does each week will make sense and is more entertaining, at this point it is like rocky maivia in his early wwf days.....doing all the face stuff and getting booed everyone knew he would better as heel. I think your taking points away for hogan will/should change when we get to Hollywood Hogan days cuz at least then it makes sense for him to act like he does lol. great video as always! don't let them wwf fans pressure you into giving more wins to WWF! :) lol j/k, keep up the great work, cant wait for the next episode!
Anybody else think Kid looked badass in those stills with Ted Dibiase despite the baby items?
Teddy Long once said the best thing a ref can do is see what they're suppose to and NOT see what they shouldn't but Nick screws his positioning up so much
Reliving the war is amazing , one of my best things to watch on youtube
Can’t wait for the attitude era to begin
Best raw entrance music
Hogan really thought a match with one man gang was going to help that mans career lol!!! Come ooooooon BROTHER!
Doing awesome work dude.
Did anybody else notice that Vader was wearing his singlet backwards
Can you do undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at ground zero story?
I remember that match where Razor loses due to chasing 123 kid. I definitely didn't remember he was fighting HHH though. Haha. Oh dang I definitely remember the Bret Hart, Diesel Cage Match build up too. I never got to watch the actual match. My dad wouldn't get a cable box and get a PPVs for another year or two after this.
What’s an “international object” ???
Here we go 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😁
Jim Cornette is one of my favorite people even to this day. We have similar anger issues lol.
nice to see Gorilla throw some chops. i think nearly all of us are too young to have seen him as an in-ring talent.
Another Great episode Bro.
Did hogan ever had the best match on any show?
Yes, but it never counts on this ALfirst channel.
You just don't like Hogan. It's pretty obvious. I love this series but your bias against Hogan is readily apparent.
Sting's facepaint in the thumbnail looks like one of the basketball options in NBA Street
I was irritated how I felt FORCED to like HBK.
Those skits would of been funny if it didn't make Vince look like a hypocrite, Vince did worse things and actually planned sabotaging the territories. Then when someone was beating him at his own game without pulling dirty tricks, he gets his panties in a twist and acts like a child with name calling. Best part is that Turner put a 10th of the time thinking of vince that Vince thought of him and said he laughed at the skits which prob pissed Vince off
For me, that doesn't work for me brother is like the picture I can't unsee. I hear Savage tell Hogan he has to become the #1 contender and all I hear is Hogan say "That doesn't work for me brother."
Why did Vader wear his singlet backwards? Because he’s a meathead. Lol
Love watching ur channel you should do videos on the aew and nxt guys we dont know 2 much about example i feel like a lot of people don't know much about Cassidy
Let's keep it that way.
Sting and Luger were great! I really enjoyed them during their short run, it was funny as hell!
I'm a huge Hogan fan, always will be but this Era of Hogan is terrible. He gives his opponents NOTHING. There was zero reason to have him in the main event doing lazy matches when you got Savage and flair and a week ago, flair and sting battling for the world title. It was Hogan having Bischoff in his back pocket and Hogan doing what's best for Hogan. Not the show. He over shadowed Savage constantly at this time and would continue to do so for savages entire WCW run. It was sad. And annoying.
man...Pre nWo '96 Hogan...ugh. It's only going to get worse.
Pillman, what a bum.
19:45 haha
WCW Nitro: LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE IN......CAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR'SSS PPPPPPPPAAAAAAAAAAARRKKKKKIIIIIIIIIINNNNG LOOOOOT!
I woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon iiiit!
I wonder if Vader wore the singlet backwards because of the V shaped neck hole facing forward that way? I have no idea, but it's the best thing I can come up with.
I was getting worried I thought Wednesday this comes out but thank you I love this time machine
Have you ever considered talking about TNA?
man, I love watching these so much.... You should select a couple-few months out of the year to power play some episodes. maybe 2 a week for special occasions.
LETS GO RAWWWW!!!!
The Hogan vs Gang match could have been for the US title, but I guess Hogan didn't want to hold a second rate title. At the time the US title was the #1 contender for the world title.
Best series on ALfirst 👍
I love these videos man I really do its so nostalgic, butttt I do kinda feel like you're a lil bias when it comes to wcw that triple h and razor match was wayyyyyy better than Brian pillman and Dean malenko.....just sayin
Jesus Harlem heat out smarted lex luger a can of beans could out smart lex luger
Y would flair go 4 a injured arm in kayfabe if he had a injured leg he'd go 4 that cos his finisher has Notting to do with a arm if it was injured leg that b a bullseye 4 flair 4 the figure 4 kayfabe I always thout y they tape up a injury it's only going ta b a target it's little things like this withch make a good match a great match
"Real American and all round great guy: Hulk Hogan" 😂😂😂 I love this series. Thank you WB
Did Macho Man every have any storylines without Hulk having to get involved. Its almost like Hulk was jealous of Savage
I love watching these. Die hard WCW fan
Ha that Savage promo: "You running around the ring, acting like you've won it. I WOOOOOOOOOOOON IT!"
Cant be mad at Vader back in the 90's wearing stuff backwards was kind of a thing.
Weekly highlight! Countdown to next week begins
Always loved Harlem Heat. Harlem Hangover still one of the most underrated finishers.
This episode of Nitro is TopTen Nitro for me, had a real big show feel. I can’t believe you had Raw winning this tbh.
WWF was so lame in 1996 WCW was a bit better but had a bunch of old WWF rejects lol
You mean, the same Linda that's Banned from AEW?😂 Cry Baby Match sounds like a VKM Rib.😅
Uh ok nitro might of had the better content, but I still never watch it, and where is nitro now? Ok there is no debate! Raw and WWE outplayed WCW get over it!
It's a foreign object, please stop calling it an "international" object.
@Viola Greene Thanks mate. I civilised reply and informative too. I was never a big wcw fan so I was used to it being called a foreign object in WWE/WWF. I stand corrected and have no problem being put straight.
It's a call back to when they actually used the term "international object" back in WCW. At some point a directive came down to not use the term "foreign". It was meant to apply to things like "foreign affairs", but somebody decided that it applied to foreign objects as well.
If you gotta problem with it why don’t you go find someone else who makes videos like this. Oh wait, you can’t. So quit your complaining and watch the damn video.
You can't honestly give Vader v Savio Vega the win over Flair v Savage?! That's bonkers.
Yes I can. And I did.
Bret Hart vs Goldust OR Hogan vs One Man Gang... EASY CHOICE LMAO i knew who would take the point before i saw the result!
Can t believe there was a hogan vs one man gang in a 1996 main event. This match really sounds like a 80 s one
Couldn't stand hogan then, still can't stand him now. I really have no idea how he stayed relevant for so long personally, he was always horrible. In my personal opinion he didnt fit into these later years, 97 and up. I dont get how fans still bought him after so long of the same b.s. even in nwo, he was always a heel anyway. Taking the spotlight away from great talent like savage, and so many others. Or acting like a giant baby when he lost. Why did it take fans so long to get sick of him, it still baffles me.
