We are coming close to the end of 1995. Both WWF Raw and WCW Monday Nitro have been going head to head for around 3 months, kickstarting a time period within professional wrestling known as “The Monday Night Wars”. Eric Bischoff’s WCW Nitro has decided to take on Vince McMahon’s WWF Raw for television ratings supremacy, Ted Turner has been funding World Championship Wrestling in it’s quest to become the number 1 wrestling promotion in the United States.
Its 12.11.1995. We are 1 week away from WWF In Your House 5 where Bret Hart will defend the WWF Championship against The British Bulldog. Along with this match, the WWF have been building up a tag team bout featuring Razor Ramon and Marty Jannetty vs Sycho Sid and The 1-2-3 Kid. Over on the WCW side, the company is heading towards their annual Starrcade event that will see Randy Savage defend the WCW Championship against either Sting, Lex Luger or “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. This week’s episode of Nitro is from Charlotte, North Carolina… and The Four Horsemen have plenty of fans in attendance.
Topics, matches and promos included in this episode:
00:00 - Eddie Guerrero and Jeff Hardy in action
03:44 - Aja Kong vs Chaparita Asari
06:14 - Disco Inferno, Paul Orndorff, and a Shawn Michaels update
08:58 - The Horsemen are in Flair Country
12:04 - The WWF airs some commercials

Raw vs Nitro "Reliving The War": Episode 14 - Dec 11th 1995

I botched the scores at the end. Apologies. Thats what happens when you watch Ahmed Johnson promos. It's actually 4 points to Raw.
@jerry janik It was mentioned in a previous episode :)
AHMED will do that to a guy ! ! LoL. Just be glad you weren't that jobber ! Anyway you can post that HORSEMAN Segment? It for SURE, was a subtle loose cannon promo. Hey man, I REALLY APPRECIATE the work you put into these episodes and I think you give a very fair analysis.
Love your videos brother..best on ALfirst
He invented the marble mouth promos 😄
@BawesomeBurf Fun with Ahmed will forever. Eat a reef!
I was in awe the time I saw that SkyTwisterPress. Still one of the most impressive moves I have seen.
Thanks for another great show. I appreciate the explanation why you’re rating Hulk Hogan down. L
It's VERY Evident that at this point WWF wasn't doing a very good job oF Building the PPV MAIN EVENT Matches via the weekly stories on the television shows. Sure, they were doing the SLAM JAM, etc.. But I feel like REALLY Making BRET/TITLE and the programs feel important was hit or miss at this time.
I was at this Nitro... If you look behind Disco when he gets on the ropes to dance before his match, you can see (left to right) my stepdad, my cousin, and myself, all in our Carolina Panthers jerseys giving Disco the finger lol... You can see us around 22:18 - 22:20 in the top right corner in our jerseys lol... And you're right. That crowd was wild for Flair & Anderson. It was cool.
the young bucks look like a young jeff hardy
Hogan gets annoyed because Sting didn't come out with him........... who really cares , obviously Hogan cared lol
grabs pitchfork CHARGE!!!! LOL
Hogan wanted to come down with sting so that he wouldn't get booed brother!
Austin was released from WCW in Dec. 95... who's the idiot that thought Disco Inferno was more valueable than Austin?
Lack of selling? That's Japanese wrestling for ya. lol
Another loss for WWF, damn scared for 1996 I don't know how they will catch up
think wcw fans did not care for hulkamania
Aja Kong etc were the best woman wrestlers in the world back then justl like Io, Kairi and Asuka are better than Charlotte, Becky, Bayley and Sasha. Don’t @ me these are absolute facts.
Everyone should listen to the Eric Bischoff podcast. Hogan didn't have near as much control as everyone wants to believe.
BRETS ROPE, PIN POINT ELBOW!!!
You mistake raw was better in my mind
Please keep doing these!
Thanks for pointing out crowd reactions on the WCW Main Event. Clearly Bishoff was listening, gaining ammunition to turn Hogan heel.
Eddie was underrated
Eddie g was something else.
Did I miss episode 15? Or is it coming out later today?
You're doing a great job with these I look forward to the new episode every week
Where is today's video??!?!? Its already 5pm here
This half an hour programme is better than anything else I've seen on any viewing screen this year.
love it! I watched all of both episodes being from the west coast. I did watch SS '95 and didn't watch World War 3 but called the hotline to find out who won and I did ask my parents first! Took like 3 minutes to hear Macho Man won. here's some facts around the time y'all probably knew: Bret Hart was just the second WWF Champion in history. Razor Ramon was the first 4-time IC champion in history. Shawn Micheals just dropped his third IC reign. He was the second 3-time IC champ ever. Hulk Hogan's first WCW reign ended a few weeks ago. Macho Man is on his first WCW reign.
I wonder where the Bret Hart boy is now?
Crazy to think that Jeff Hardy was just a basic jobber here! Within 5 years he’s involved in 4 star WrestleMania matches!
Wow memories man this series is awesome thank you so much WB I can remember as a kid i always had the remote control in my hand and would flip back and forth between wwf/wcw thank God for the prev. channel button 😂😂
My 13th birthday!
Never understood the story with luger hogan and sting savage they were arguing for what
Every episode gets me with that theme like I get excited lol 😂
Aja Kong was just at Survivor Series a couple weeks before this
Survey says....one more, for the good guys
Can't wait for 1997 year 🙏
You should do a monthly weekend show to where you compare that months ppv the exact same way you do the weekly shows.
Hogan did get booed very badly that time man it was crazy 😜 he got more cheers as a heel(mind you the NWO always did)
I agree the Hart and Backlund match wasnt good,Bret really couldn’t do Backlund any justice
LOL to Shawn being interviewed at his "home" - because we all have two giant fake trees in our living room!
I remember this time well as I was 16 about to turn 17 and I always wondered why this old man(Backlund) was champ for a minute and always on top of the card...
Hogan is trash, was trash, will aways be trash. fact
I agree Bob Backund shouldn't have been wrestling, but come on, it was lols!
Love your channel!! In my opinion you have one of the best wrestling bio channels out there for sure!! If you havent already can you do a Sandman in Ecw bio? Thanks man, keep the great content coming!!
amid was horrible was a reason he never lasted long in either company
i dont think flair ever lost for his side or Michaels for his. sting lost once i believe
God that Monday Nitro intro music is legendary.
Disco got rocked by that suplex.
Keep up the good work man
Cannot wait for you to get to the Nitro where Madusa shows up & trashes the old WWF women's title. I'm just curious to hear your opinion & comments, on that classic moment. Should be coming up soon.
5:00 why apologize? Your video awesame love
Went back and watched that Shawn Michaels interview I remember being scared at the time that Shawn was going to die when he collapsed in the ring and Vince McMahon seemed genuinely upset about it but watching it now at 31 years old it just makes me laugh especially Vince gushing over Shawn and being all heartbroken and just begging people to love Shawn so different from the Mr McMahon character
If Ahmed Johnson had Jim Cornette do you think he would of been better off ? I think he could of learned a lot (to be a safer worker) and get away with heel tactics for wins both building a push and keeping him safe
Young Jeff sold the hell out of that clothesline lol
I think somebody misses wcw poor fella
I wish this was at least 2 times a week
Everything going to Nitro in this series, my opinion sways towards Raw but that's the beauty of having different tastes. I definitely think Owen and Jeff was better, considering the legend Jeff Hardy would go on to become.
Its going to be a while before Raw starts getting alot of wins lol
Was jeff hardy like 18
“If you think this was going to be a total squash match...” Me:😯 “Then you’d be absolutely right” Damn you Bio’s!!!
He was more interested in the women's match than Luger's promo lol Edit: Paul orndorff was ripped for his age
Taking nothing away from his work rate, I always hated babyface shawn michaels. His character was so much better as a heel
Fun Fact: Wrestling Bios used to be Wrestling Lists. Totally forgot the name 🤣
Have you heard "Classy" Freddie Blassy's song Pencil Neck Geek?
those nostalgia feels! Thank you Wrestling Bios!
RE: Brett Hart vs. Backlund Let’s be honest, Backlund shouldn’t have been wrestling at all. If you have to rely on two armbars because you’re gassed, then you shouldn’t be stepping into the ring. And this isn’t just against Bob, since as a wrestling fan who was watching this stuff as it happened, I can tell you my friends and family would change the channel the second any of the old timers brought out the armbar or headlock. Hogan was no exception here either, as he would get gassed walking to the ring. The only one I’d possibly give an exception to would be Flair, as he could last a decent amount of time being running out of steam, and he knew how to a.) wrestle, and b.) put on an exciting match. As for Hogan beefing with Sting over the solo Babyface walk, that’s gotta be a LLLOOOOONNNGGG walk when you’re getting booed right after everyone was getting ovations. Going together would’ve given Hogan some rub-off love. Hindsights 20/20 - so why don’t you embrace it? Start giving these episodes your own rating at the end, determine which ones were “must see,” and which were complete garbage.
I have a question will you cover certain episodes that either RAW or Nitro was preemptive that week like the December 25 episode where it was Nitro only.
That style shirt that Shawn is wearing was big in the 90's, they were designed to be buttoned up to the neck like that. God I'm old lol.
Another great video I look forward to this every week thank you bro keep up the amazing work much love from south Carolina bro
Agree with you that Backblund should never be in the ring with Bret Hart. Welcome to Flair Country woooooooo
Second rope? *ahem* I believe it's called 'Bret's rope'?
Duck arse Backlund.
Can't wait for 96
Loving this series so far WCW will start winning the ratings by mid 1996 that's when the NWO was formed
I watch all of these so far and it seems to me that you was a wcw fan and it feels like you might be a little bit bias to me
DOUBLE A WASN'T ALL DAT!!! AN HE TOOK A LOT OF PUNISHMENT!!! BUT....HE CAN CUT A PROMO!!😁😁🕵🕵🕵🤔🤔
I ROCK WITH EDDIE G!!!🤔🤔
Young Jeff Hardy was already there during the New generation Era
BOB SHOULD HAVE ON A RANCH SUM WERE INSTEAD OF WRESTLING BRET HART!!!🕵🕵🕵🤔🤔
The best youtube moment of the week
I always thought Diesel was the WWF's response to Seattle grunge music. The character was of its time. Part of the zeitgeist of the era.
What about Raven?
i forgot how many times hogan, savage, and sting had arguments and handshakes every week its terrible like watching the elite argue in aew
@The One not arguing star power they definitely are bigger stars just saying its so stupid to have the faces have the same argument every week
Sting Hogan and savage were all mega stars, I like AEW but they aren’t even close to that level yet.
It looks like they photoshopped Hogan's mustache off at 16:34
I love "Reliving The War" so much! It's one of the best things of ALfirst right now! And when it ends. Maybe we'll get a "Reliving The War" for NXT and Dynamite. But Wrestling Bios. This is the best! Keep it up!
💨💨💨💨💨💨
Been feeling down all day and this made my day. Great job.
I still think Sid doesn't get the kudos he deserves been watching some of his shoot interviews and the man is super ring smart.
How about adding total points to the totals.? That way we can see if one show really was dominantly better
Nitro won the Ratings. 2.6 vs 2.5. They were beating Raw even before the NWO
You do a fantastic job with these. I know how I would score each episode with my heart, but you are always objective, which I appreciate. Thank you so much, and please, keep'em coming!
"Some genius decided to give Ahmed a little promo time" broooo bios with the shade hahaha!!! But Johnson his promos sounds like my dad at the buffet line hahaha!!!
WWF creative in 1995: “We’ve got one of, if not the best worker in the business, what should we do with him at In Your House 5?” Also WWF creative in 1995: “Throw him in there with Diesel”
Well, Bret Hart had a really great match with diesel the month before I guess the idea was Owen could probably have a great match too? Though if I remember correctly it wasn't really that good It was mostly a one sided affair I think it would have been better if they gave Diesel Yokozuna with the idea being he wants to face the biggest baddest guy and former world champion and Owen could've wrestled Hakushi since WWF never really used him much on PPV after Summerslam and he was incredible
WcW >
Jeff Hardy was 18! damn!
That spinning back fist from Kong looked pretty damn legit
Ohh, next week is also one of the first BIG moments in the Monday Night War on the WCW side. Up until then, most of the shots Bischoff did were just glancing blows. The week after this, though, something happens that people remember for a LONG time. If you don't know what it is, wait until next week to find out. It's one of THE big moments in the 5 and a half year ratings war.
Make a Lex Luger video around this same time period
Bob Backlund was always a joke...
4:20 you don’t to expand out side the big 3 watch some classic Joshi style wrestling from the 90s. AJW
I think the total was miss counted. Episode 14 the score is 7-5 with 3 ties. That's 15 not 14. .
What are your plans for comparison when nitro goes to 3hr show and raw at a 2hr time limit?
