In 2011, the man called Sting had a drastic change of character in TNA. Known to fans as “Joker” Sting but officially dubbed the “Insane Icon”, the Stinger’s new gimmick was heavily inspired by the movie “The Dark Knight” as Steve Borden looked (and acted) like The Joker. With Hulk Hogan and the Immortal faction as his main rivals, Sting would entertain fans of TNA with this new and odd character. Some fans loved it, some fans didn’t, but it’s a very interesting part of The Stinger’s career that’s extremely fascinating to look at.
In this video, we look at the events that led up to Sting vs Hulk Hogan at Bound for Glory 2011. Topics covered here include Sting using a bird to intimidate Eric Bischoff, Sting’s feud with Kurt Angle, the final Sting vs Flair match to ever happen, Hogan vs Sting in TNA and loads more.
00:00 - Sting and Kurt Angle get prepared for their match
02:44 - Sting, Eric Bischoff & The Cage
06:03 - Sting vs Angle at Hardcore Justice 2011
07:55 - Sting and Ric Flair's feud gets revisited
15:04 - Hogan vs Sting at Bound for Glory 2011

INSANE ICON II : "Joker" Sting vs Hulk Hogan in Impact Wrestling

There's somthing bout during Sting's "joker" gimmick he wore a red suit. Keeps reminding me of the new joker movie. Even kicks his feet up on the desk too
I miss watching TNA....I enjoyed the storylines with Sting......Hulk Hogan played an excellent role with TNA.......
The Hulkster's subtle blade job though haha 19:28
A great video once again! Honestly, it's refreshing to hear someone talk positively about the Joker Sting gimmick. I've seen almost nothing but negative comments about it online over the years. Despite me being 11 when I was watching the whole thing play out, I remember being pretty enthralled by it.
I just love how structured your videos are. Perfection!
This all seemed like a WCW alt. Universe.. 😅😅
Joker Sting is hella underrated! Would love to see him return to that in AEW. It fits him more for his current age than the Crow Sting, which fits more for young peak Sting.
Joker 🃏 Sting 🦂 was my favorite wrestler in wrestling world 🌎 today sting 🦂 forever ♾ and for life
Is it just me or did Kurt Angle look like Randy Couture at this time?
Jeez that Foo Fighters song is terrible...
Man this channel 🔥
Was there a mechanical spider in the cage?
I love how normal ric flair is just as crazy an insane sting
Loved this era of sting! so much respect to you man only found the xhannel 2 months ago an think ive nearly binge watched the majority of your videos!!! so in depth and play by play of the history of wrestling and eras! keep up the great work man!
Thanks for doing this set of videos! As a person who was watching Impact/TNA during this era. I believe most fans "WWE" missed out on some good wrasslin!
They should give Oscars to wrestlers, Sting wouldve been a shoe in!
Hulk Hogan is such garbage!
Please do a Jeff Hardy turning into Willow
WTF kinda crow is that? I've never seen a crow with a white ring around it. They're usually all black
It appears to be an African Pied Crow. Now I'm even more confused.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pied_crow
So basically the Joker Sting gimmick was the storyline that should’ve happened with crow Sting and NWO. That’s my takeaway
sting gave an amazing performance, but to go through all that to bring back hulkamania hulk? maybe in a parallel universe. in this one hulk is irredeemable.
Next video bio man should be Bully Rays calves lol
Angle looked so small. I remember he was training for the Olympics around this time then got hurt.
Seriously, this 2 part series on Insane Icon is the best one yet. I had no idea Impact Wrestling was as good as this at this time, would have switched over from WWE if i had! Awesome stuff.
Bios-man vids are the best.
Is it only me waiting for Joker Sting to look at the camera and say “alllllrrrriiiiggghhhttttyyyyy then!!!” And Damn does Angle looks like a different person. Wouldn’t have recognized him if he didn’t say so
I honestly just love how Sting’s face paint told a story within itself
I would LOVE for you to cover the history of Immortal and Fortune!
I enjoy Sting, but to be honest this era wasn't the best in TNA. Too many lackluster storylines like Aces and Eights, it didnt have enough build up and was rushed. I prefer TNA 2005-2009 was a lot better. I no longer watch it anymore, but I use to be a big fan.
Actually liked impact when Hogan was basically running it and when Sting was running it as well. Once Hogan left it was done for.
Good job breaking this story line down
Sting is back! AEW
you can say what ever you want about IMPACT - this whole sting story line was so awesome and i cant wait to see what he will have in store for us at AEW
If anyone can help AEW win its war against WWE’s tertiary show, it’s a man who was great in the 90s and 2000s because pushing Dean Ambrose, Stardust, and Chris Jericho wasn’t moving the needle much
I might be late saying this but now you have to do a broken Matt Hardy video
Joker sting is such a joke 😂
"I've seen Suburban Commando."
Love that movie it's so cheesy it fun to watch
I feel like I was a wrestling fan for such a short time.
Sting was TNA's Undertaker Bobby Rude was TNA's HHH Aj Styles was TNA's JohnCena
Thank you for the excellent content!
Sting: I'm the network executive Steiner: you're wearing makeup!
Bischoff, SOLDFORTHEBIRD
Dave Meltzer doesn't think Sting is a Hall of Famer but Kenny Olivier is.
That's me at 24:06 to the right of the ring post, holding a camera and painted up like Joker Sting 😅
Dude these were great videos thank you definitely worth watching
The booby roode James storm feud actually led to a reallly brutal match at bound for glory 2012 very bloody
11:53 even Lance Storm would think that chairshot looks weak
Never thought much of the Mr Anderson/Kennedy character
That's because for the most party he was mildly bland at best, his best moments as a wrestler were his feud with Kurt in TNA, and his feud with Sting, everything else was kind of meh just going through the motions.
I missed out on some good stuff back then wow
Lmao Suburban Commando acting performance. Great line.
Very cool man. I've never watched TNA/Impact but this seems like a great send-off for those legends. Hogan and Flair.
I had just watched a compilation of all the Insane Icon stuff. And yeah, it was great. I wish I had watched it then. Some of the best work Stinger ever did.
Kurt angle tna video or maybe fortune?
I'd totally hit Dixie Carter
Why does Kurt Angie look so weird
Impact storyline were just silly to me. I never cared for joker Sting
The fans can bring Hulkamania back. I remember that. Hogan stood in one corner while he cleared the ring. It was wonderful though.
This angle is better than the nwo
angle looked pretty rough
Tremendous videos the last two episodes. Joker Sting for me when it was happening, I thought sucked, but later on when watching some of the promos and how things were being booked, this was better than a lot of fans thought at the time. At least Borden was trying to do something different. There was some great fun promos and segments from this. Steve seemed like he was enjoying himself too for once in TNA.
Main Event Mafia ???
Awesome
I honestly hope the joker sting returns. Also what's this theme in the beginning and end
Who tf calls brass knuckles brass nucks?
Is there a link for the Foo Fighters/ Sting theme mashup?
Where can I watch these episodes of TNA Are they available?
2 Boomers wrastlin? Who tf cares?!?!?!
Quiet possibly one of the worst rivalries ever
You should do the first ever TNA Impact on Wrestling Bios.
I think you can do Raven's career in TNA on Wrestling Bios.
When you see Angle's eyes, you can just tell he's on something.
Perc angel was a wild boi
He does this, he does that, he's quick as a cat and he hits you with a bat
Can you do an in depth analysis video of Stings career in AEW please?
I forgot how good It-Factor Bobby Roode was
I am exactly the fan you described. Love WCW Sting as a kid, but as an adult I had no draw to TNA advertising. This was great! I'll definitely check out his promos as the icon. Thanks, I'll hit ya up on Patreon or sum
Love The Sting vids... can't wait for the next installment of the Sting series! Great work!!!
The only thing Sting hated about the horrible Robocop angle in the WCW was that he didn't get to be Robocop Sting.
Pretty good I just finished part 1
picture this sting in aew.
The day sting thought he was the crow I couldn't cheer for him again. Then he started calling himself the icon. You're not the icon sting. Sorry
20:23 14 years after Starrcade '97, and Sting still can't get his tanning game up to par. Not cool.
It’s funny how many times that Garret bischoff shows up in this video
Hulk with the softest chair shots of all time
Hogan is just so annoying, his total lack of in ring skills makes his matches damn near unwatchable
This comment doesn't work for my 100 back surgeries brother. Dude is damn near crippled
i saw the whole joker sting storyline...literally the ONLY reason i’d watch tna impact wrestling at the time...now i watch impact because of kenny omega. JK i watch all promotions regardless of storylines. i watch it for the wrestling.
I fell off impact wrestling during this time because I went to bootcamp. Can I request aces and eights
Can you make a history of Bayley and Sasha Banks???
Listening to this while watching AEW
Dug it til the end when I got destroyed by that overly loud snare in the foo fighters rip off at the end lol
I purchased the Bound For Glory PPV for Sting vs. Hogan. It was great!
I never watched TNA/Impact. Kurt Angle looks weird. Drugs?
All of this really looks amazing compared to modern day WWE.
Sting isn't my favorite wrestler but he is the embodiment of pro wrestling.
Kurt Angle looked rough...
My favourite time of tna! Well this and the mr Anderson.......Anderson... Asshole bit. He was so lovely when me and my daughter met him! Mr Ken..Anderson and leaving wwe to tna next!
Great video, makes me wish I saw Impact during this time. Any way to watch whole episodes of this era?
This was possibly one of Impact Wrestling’s most underrated storylines I mean even Sting’s crow got over 😂
Can't wait for the Ace's and Eights Videos. Best faction at it's time.
joker sting was legit lame lol
We wrestle in the society
The Jason Statham version of Kurt Angle doesn’t get talked about enough
Perc angle
I honedtly didn't know for sure it was him until bio guy said it was
Drugs are a hell of a drug.
