Wrestling Bios presents The Story of "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar (2002).
Brock Lesnar made a sudden impact on the WWF when he made his debut the night after WrestleMania X8. Brock had a truly outstanding amateur wrestling career, becoming the NCAA Division 1 Heavyweight Champion in 2000. With his natural athletic pedigree, Brock Lesnar was approached by Vince McMahon and the WWF to begin work as a professional wrestler. Brock signed his WWF contract in 2000, going on to train at OVW with guys like John Cena and Randy Orton in order to sharpen his wrestling skills.
When Brock made his first televised appearances in the WWF, he made people take notice. With Paul Heyman at his side, the "Next Big Thing" completely destroyed everything in his path, leading to a 2002 King of the Ring victory and, in a matter of mere months, Brock Lesnar went to Summerslam where he defeated The Rock to become the WWE Undisputed Champion.
This video takes a look at Brock Lesnar's early WWF / WWE days, from his debut right up to his first WWE championship win. Matches and topics include:
00:00 - Brock Lesnar before WWE
03:44 - Brock makes an impact on Raw
06:59 - The Hardy Boyz vs Brock Lesnar
12:45 - Brock wins the 2002 King of the Ring

This Brock lesnar is the best 2002 to 2004.
I can watch that chair shot all day 😭😭😭🔥🔥🔥
It's been 6 months... Where's my next big BROCK video?
For sure one of the greatest hyped up wrestlers EVER. I remember it like it was yesterday. The anticipation for brock was crazy, he delivered. Last wwe game i bought was "here comes the pain" After that i was done with wrasslin. F5.
Imagine if brock lesnar was in og ECW
Youngest wwe champion at the time maybe ever.
@Qwerty
@michael
Brock in 2002, Kurt Angle in 2000 and Ronda Rousey in 2018 are, in my opinion, 3 of the greatest WWE rookie years I ever saw.
9:31 that chair hahaha, the crowd going "oooh" is the best part.
Excellent year for wrestling fans
The lewd pump intralysosomally bare because pantyhose lately seal through a perfect beer. aspiring, adamant knife
Brock Lesnar is what WCW wanted people to think Goldberg was
I completely forget that Hayman got a 3 count over Jeff .... lol
The mussel definitely and size that he had from such a young age is insane. In some of those pics he looked about 14 and had the body of a fully developed power lifter.
Probably one of if not the best wrestling channels about. Hats off.
I think I watched his segment on "Before They Were Superstars 2" about 50 times as a young teenager. This dude is the reason I still workout to this day.
When did WWF start using TKO?
Lesnar was one of those extremely rare times when hotshotting to the top made absolute sense.
I love Linda McMahon’s entrance theme in the beginning I dance naked to it
austin was scared of brock, but vince always wants to bury his guys who put the company on the map...seeing vets/hof coming back old as hell to get beat up by the younger talent is always what vince has done.
The part where Brock destroys Hogan, If you listen carefully, you can hear all the careers Hogan has taken over the years finally being freed.
Damn!! The talent that came out of OVW
i never cared for brock the wrestler. too much like boring unbeatable hulk hogan.
Legit best pro wrestler of the last 20 years. Most believable, biggest draw.
I miss this Lesnar over that Lazy Bum & His Part Timer's Shovel.
I am tired of Brock Lesnar....I don't want him to return...... But I appreciate these videos from a historical standpoint.
My first time seeing Lesnar was a house show in Bristol, TN before his debut in WWE. He completely destroyed Perry Saturn. It was crazy, the dude was huge and mobile and I looked at my Uncle at the time and said, "I don't know who this guy is but if he shows up in WWE he'll destroy everyone."
With stone cold truth is stone cold had became a Diva, he was a a mid card at best before stone cold. Stone cold is all gimmick and don't tell me he not when before he never got over and once he did he didn't want put anyone else over. Talk about a jerk
If that Lesnar from 2002 entered the UFC he would have gone down in History as the most dominant fighter of all time. Literally no one in the world would have been able to handle a young Brock Lesnar in a fight He was probably the closest thing the world has seen to a real life superman in his prime I have never seen any athlete in any sport like Lesnar in his prime, just an absolute freak
So the rock is the youngest wwf champ ever?
Yeah
@2:08 those traps as a sophomore in college are you effing kidding me
He does look like the bully archetype.
Got to hand it to Spike Dudley. He got thrown around by Brock for like 6 months and always made it look totally devastating.
Brock was a terrible wrestler. He was a terrible UFC fighter he had everything handed to him on a horse meat platter
I think Goldbergs success in WCW also contributed to lesnars popularity in WWE. Lets be real he kinda was WWEs version of Goldberg
I wish wwe would give lesnar his full move set from his first run. He was an absolute beast, sucks they made him only so damn suplexes to sell merchandise 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
They should have had the Vengence RVD Ending on the RAW after KotR, then Lesnar could have went on to beat Austin at Vengeance. Austin was Right Not to Job on RAW. The Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan Matches were wasted in terms of Storyline.
Lesnar is a one in a billion jewel. His physique make him looks like a beast but being backed up with his athletic background, he able to move fast and agile like a cruiserweight. His grappling moves looks explosive thus making it looks real and painful. Only his mic works that are mediocore. But yeah he has quite a lot of entertaining solo segment in smackdown 03-04. Lesnar is the only wrestler that WWE succesfully managed to push instantly. And he never gone to mid card since then
If Mike Awesome went to WWF earlier. He could have been like Brock Lesnar.
Hey Wrestling Bios, what are the chances you making his NJPW career video. I know you're more of wwe and wcw guy but it would be great to addition to your Lesnar's videos.
Dream Matches with Lesnar would be VS. Kevin Nash, Sting, and Steve Austin.
Was hoping for a bit of Cornette threatening to shoot Brock in OVW 🤣 great content as always!
I'm glad he had a wrestling career, one possible serial killer less .lol
great videos! keep it up
9:33 - That chair shot was HEAVY!!!!
BORK SMASH!!!
I’m still waiting on that Brock vs Rock rematch. We didn’t get it at Mania 30 so we gotta get it b4 they’re too old lol
Brocks shoot in ufc about coors light is amazing
Looking back now, I don't think anyone in history was ever booked as strongly that Brock. Putting him over Ric Flair, Hogan, The Rock, and potintallyl Steve Austin was absolutely insane. Brock, love him or hate him, really was a once in a generation talent.
Haha. Its not real. Its pantomime
I remember watching wwe avidly at this time, and thinking on his debut that he would be something big. "The next big thing"
Austin was real moody in this period but I agree, it should be a PPV match. Kinda weird how they also just put Lesnar v Hogan on TV.
brock is the best keep to me that you have my no lesnar and but his know time is wwe
@4:26 "....and you've got a license to print money". That line is gold. You just earned a new sub, Brother.
Brocks 1st run was pretty entertaining, Sadly it was also his best work in wrestling.
Brocks 1st run was the last time I can remember where someone new came in and made watching wwe must see.its a shame he left when he did
if you hit Brock Lesnar over the head with a chair the chair could suffer concussion or other issues down the line.
This guy is making a living of plagiarism
Summerslam 02 was a great event, the fact that the crowd had any energy left by the end was a miracle.
How I wish I could go back to 2002
Awesome video...
Best thing about lesnar..... the botched shooting star press
I could be wrong but I heard Eddie Guerrero was supposed to be the referee during the Austin/Lesnar match. Guerrero was going to help Lesnar win which would have fully kicked off the Austin Guerrero feud. I can't remember where I heard it from though so I could very well be wrong
Austin was scared cause he know Brock wasn’t going scripted
People who say Brock can’t wrestle should see his first run in WWE. He still can but I guess Vince just wants him to have a limited move set.
First run : he had great matches with names like rey, Chris benoit, Eddie, undertaker, kurt angle (60 minute Iron match, wm, ss) Second run: he had great matches with names like Aj styles, daniel bryan, seth rollins, cm punk, Finn balor
Brocks first run in WWE was game changing the feud between Lesnar and the Undertaker was Amazing and the Matches Lesnar had with Big Show it still amazes me when I see Lesnar belly to belly suplex the Big Show but now Lesnar Sucks he's not limited by anything but his own ego and lack of work ethic I don't blame him for wanting to stay at home during the whole covid-19 epidemic but long before this he turned into a two move bitch even worse than Cena don't get me wrong though if I had to choose who I would rather see go over between Lesnar and Cena I'm choosing Lesnar all day everyday.
Why Brock not in ecw
He's got the personality of a sea sponge.
It's a real shame that Lesnar's first run was so brief due to the backstage politics, the toil of the ring and long hours on the road but I can't help but think what if Lesnar did not leave in 2004 how different things would of been in the WWE.
Even though wwe did the right thing in pushing lesnar as a new star i felt that his quick push also led to his departure a couple of years later since i think he felt he accomplished a lot during his 1st stint
That chair to the face made me feel a little queasy wtf there’s no gimmick chair or reinforced skull.
I’d love 1 thing to see Bobby the brain heenan and rick rude take on brock and heyman but then u just have heel v heel but who cares wow that would be such fun
Nah, Lita would totally hook up with Heyman. Not to defend her. Boyfriend, mind you, but if it would get her somewhere. Lita was exactly, what Matt Hardy called her back in the day. Her theme song rocked, though
Mr.Perfect vs Brock was a leaked dark match. Dream match. Brock vs Sid Vicious.
I’ll be honest I never really was a big lesnar fan he’s definitely big don’t get me wrong but his body shape or composition if you will, sucks he’s actually got a lot of fat on him and his bitch tits are massive......I wouldn’t tell him these things to his face lol but just my opinion
I stopped watching WWE and wrestling from the 2001 survivor series Brock Lesnar was booked right as a beast Due to his build and look it would take something special to get a pin against him let alone beat him for a title
Do a bio on Luger. I have a lot of unanswered questions about that guy.
Happy Birthday, Brock Lesnar
Dream match: Brock Lesnar with Paul Hayman vs Andre the Giant with Bobby Heenan. Honestly, I’d go with Brock.
The problem is that he was green in his first run.
@Wrestling Bios, What happened to Brock Lesnar's build , that he had in 2002 - 2004?
Lesnar’s first appearance on wwe tv was attacking RVD not beating up spike Dudley
Shouldn't be him who ended undertaker streak
Childhood! Prime lesnar was Insane af🔥 loved his rivalry vs Kurt Angle and using him on ps2 using power bombs and backbrackers and shooting stars!
Great video mate! Such a shame people turn on the rock because he was leaving. Just shows how fickle people are.
Miss the cool chair shots to the head. All pussies nowadays.
He needs to return to this version
Truly one of the best booked wrestler debuts. This wouldn't have worked in such a short time frame with everybody, because not everyone has the immediate presence and threat of Lesnar, but they did a great job pairing him with the right mouthpiece, having him maul his way through the ranks, earn a title shot and become a legit main eventer within 6 months. I feel like that sense of progression is often missing in modern WWE.
The Gun Jack of wrestling.
Happy birthday Brock!!!
Do the career of Hardcore Holly
Did lesnar really pay a TMZ reporter 100k to delete pics of him and a bisex escort from the same college as him smootching?
9:31 next to Stevie Richards on JBL one of the sickest non ECW chairshots ever
It should never be overlooked how well Maven took that F5.
Brock was and still is the man. People talk absolute rubbish about his mma career when they say he was this and that. He beat Randy Couture for the title and Frank Mir before he nearly died because of diviculitis. He came back and still competed at about 30% of what he once was. Who knows how long he would of been champ if not for his illness. Great athlete and still the biggest draw in wrestling
Can't blame Austin. They always build up a story, but have him lose right away at first meeting, made no sense, especially when Austin was one of the top guys in the business.
Can't blame Austin on that decision. He had no business being in the KOTR anyways. Austin vs Brock could have been built up very well after the rock left for hollywood and Lesnar being over as champ
I kinda miss not having managers anymore
OMG! Hogan jobbed! No interference!
Another excellent video. I say this as someone who has always disliked Brock.
I'm stuck between wanting to watch the video and my intense personal hatred for Bork Laser.
